2A. HEAD COACH SCOUTING
If you have banked scouting or want to spend $500K off-season bonus to scout a coach or coaches, PM me the list and LO the money.

What you will receive is a summary of their skills and any major quirks you might need to be aware of. general strengths and weaknesses and preferred scheme.



2B. HEAD COACH HIRING

Standard interview period where GMs may attempt to interview and sign free agent coaches or currently signed position coaches and/or coordinators from college, IFAF, PFL, or HIFL clubs.

Once all teams have hired a head coach we will move to the next phase.

(SAME AS LAST YEAR) I WILL NOT BE ADDING A COACHING FREE AGENCY SHEET

If you have scouted college coaches or know of them from the news, you can interview them.
You can also request an interview with "the coach of (SCHOOL HERE) or (IFAF CLUB) but it will get a less than excited reply if you dont know them or have a good reason for calling them.

You can also reach out to coordinators and other coaches that are NOT head coaches.
between the team sheets from last season.  the team sheets updated for this season/off-season that show current contract status, and season-long news etc there are plenty of resources to know who you want to interview for coaches.

Prior to the start of this period (and unlocking of your threads to begin) please submit the following form to schedule an interview for the first day of Coach Hiring and PM it to me here on the boards (NOT ON DISCORD)

List your top three HC options (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE) you are bringing them in on consecutive days for interviews.  Day 1 interview (if accepted) obviously shows the greatest commitment/interest.

After teams have submitted their lists, you will receive a reply from each coach (all in one PM broken up in sections) with their interest in interviewing with you on the selected day.)


YOU MAY SEND THIS PM ONCE I OPEN THE COACHING INTERVIEW PHASE.    DEADLINE WILL BE ESTABLISHED ONCE NEW GMS CHECK IN WITH ME AND ARE READY TO PARTICIPATE



3. COACHING STAFF BUDGET ALLOCATION

Each GM will allocate a budget to their HC to hire the rest of their staff.  There will be a template provided when the period starts.

GMs will submit these template/forms via PM to avoid other teams seeing your budget until all teams have submitted and coaching contracts are published to the League Office.

This is straight from the sim(s) so some things might be tweaked and names changed/updated at my discretion (or if I find duplicates across leagues) but here is a comprehensive list of coaches from the HIFL, IFAF, PFL, and NCAA.

This is a list of players in the PFL with 3 or less years remaining on their contract.
These are the players PFL teams will at least listen to offers or make counter offers about if inquired.

The "salary" tab is their current PFL salary, so if you are planning to try to acquire a player remember they can also refuse your offer because of the current salary their contract promises them; meaning if they don't like your offer they might stay in the PFL AND the PFL acquire the player(s) that you sent in the trade.

Owners will not be pleased with fruitless trades, so beware that your actions will play a major role in how your owner evaluates your off-season.

This is the entire IFAF roster with posting fees.

Posting fees were calculated between the remaining years of commitment between player and team, the salary during that contract, and a percentage booster to incentivize the country to part with their player.

If you scout a coach, then he will be more educated on your roster when you do interviews and will be able to answer more team specific questions.


Deadline to scout coaches will be Wednesday at 6PM Eastern.

After that I will start the HC interview mechanic we used last year and go from there.  Tomorrow I'll post more specifics.

You may continue to scout IFAF free agents during this time.

International Free Agency will consist of 4 stages. 

Stage One: (17 June - 19 June)
Each team will be allowed the following:

Stage Two: (19 June - 21 June)
Each team will be allowed the following:
- Continued negotiations with stage one player (if necessary) via PM
- 3 new contract offers (negotiations) via PM


Stage Three: (21 June - 23 June)

Stage Four: (23 June - 25 June)
Each team will be allowed the following:

SO, you have your sheet in your DMs... Now what?


Now you may Send contract offers (VIA PM) for your OC and DC (separate or together)

You may only offer one OC or DC candidate per "day"  The first day of coordiantor hiring will run from right meow until 11PM eastern on 6/22. Roughly 48+ hours to get your first choice offered.

How do you offer?


Send me a PM and offer the coach a salary to be your offensive or defensive coordinator.

If you are offering the salary the requested in your PM, that is all you do... wait for a reply/decision.

if you are offering less (or more) than they asked for, then you will get an adjusted priority level and continue to wait for a reply or decision.

you **MAY** receive a counter offer style reply, but more than likely it will just be you waiting until the end of the phase or for news to drop.



FAQ (yes, already).

Q: "Can I offer someone not on my sheet" 

A:  YES, but you will be extremely low on their priority, as all coaches who are on your sheet were personally contacted by your HC to find their interest/price. so in character their will be a difference.



Q: "Can I offer less than their asking price"


A: YES, but it will effect your priority level and they may not sign, even if you are their only HIFL offer.




Q: "What if I can't afford anyone on my list?"


A: you can blind call other targets, or wait until all coordinators are hired and let your HC go after someone at the price range you set.




Q: "Can I just let my coach sign someone?"


A: NO. This is a GM participation unless you are unable to afford anyone and default to a set budget AFTER all other coordinators are hired to other teams.

I will announce here in this thread when each day rolls over and you can start your next activity.

Right now there will be NO OTHER ACTIONS, I will not be replying to threads. I will not be doing scouting that is not about signing IFAF players.  Everything else waits until I'm done.

Day 3 of International Free Agency starts now.

You have 48 hours to submit initial offers for IFA.  This will be the final phase of IFA, but there is no cap to how many players you can offer.  BE WARNED, if you bulk offer and then reneg on signing players it will have brutal ramifications so don't spam offer or abuse the change to the negotiation limit change.

Day 2 of Coordinator hires starts now.

 You should have an updated list if anything has changed from your day 1 sheet.  that means if guys signed and you lost candidates, your coach has found other options.


Same rules apply.

IF YOU DO NOT LEAGUE OFFICE YOUR COORDINATOR HIRES IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS, YOU RISK THEM SIGNING WITH OTHER LEAGUES.

With your Coordinators league officed, you may now assign your budget for the remainder of your coaching staff for your HC to fill out.

Once all coaching staffs are filled (budgets submitted and staffs announced via news) we will advance into the Scouting Combine.

More on this when it comes, but the thought this year is that international free agency will end, coaching staffs will be filled, and then you will get to scout the college ranks so you are better equipped on what you need to target in free agency and the draft.

There will still be a short early free agency period before the draft, but teams will be limited to only a few offers during this period.  After the draft, full blown free agency will kick off with the traditional mechanics prior to the free for all starting after.

Details will be specified when we get there.

For the PFL/HIFL Trade window, the structure will work like this:


- Offer / Negotiation between clubs

- Contract Negotiation between HIFL and agent for traded player(s)

- If a deal is reached, the trade is finalized.

Look it over and if you see a player you re-signed or should still be under contract send me a message (WITH REFERENCE LINK TO THE L.O. POST THAT PROVES YOUR CLAIM) so I can fix it before we start early free agency "legal tampering" period.

ComBBBine presented by The Big Baller Academy

• Teams may spend $2MM to attend the WBS portion of the ComBBBine and receive a BBB report for each player
• Teams may spend $3MM to attend the entire comBBBine to include the WBS and small college players and receive a BBB report for each player.
• Teams may spend $4MM to attend the entire comBBBine as an event sponsor and receive the WBS and small college reports while receiving additional recognition as an event sponsor.

Legal Tampering Period (Pre Draft Free Agency)

• Each Team will be allowed to target one primary free agent and three secondary free agents
• For Primary Targets, teams will receive the players interest in that club, their asking price to sign prior to the draft without negotiation (if interested enough), and will have the opportunity to make a pitch (if player interest is high enough)
• For Secondary Targets, teams will receive the players interest levels and will have the opportunity to make a pitch to ONE (or) Reserve Day 1 Visits with TWO (visit guaranteed if interest is high enough).

• Draft Proxy List is required!
• Proxy List must be submitted by the start of the draft or teams will be fined $500K S18 Bonus
• Fines will increase if the draft stalls due to missing proxy.

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENCY


14 August - 17 August:  Undrafted Free Agency (UDFA)
Once you have checked your team sheet with your team thread notes to confirm everything matches up, you may submit your list of Undrafted rookie free agent targets.  You may request a maximum of 12 UDFA's in this first phase.
Once the deadline to submit has expired, UDFA's will select their team to sign with and it will be announced via the news.  The only contract that will be offered during this phase is the UDFA minimum: 1 yr $500K (NO OPTIONS ALLOWED)

If you want to offer a UDFA player a different contract you must wait until Phase 1-3 or free for all phases.

TBD:  Unrestricted Free Agency - Phase I-III:
Starting S17/18 Off-season Free Agency phases will have the following options for pitches at the disposal of all teams.  These pitches range from no cost to unlimited cost.  If a player rejects your visit, you are not obligated to pay for the attempted pitch (only applicable to Send the House and Facility Visit)  You will league office your spending once you submit the official pitch.
Pitch expenses may come from off-season bonus OR next season (in-season) bonus.

EACH PHASE WILL HAVE A SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF CONTACT POINTS THAT MAY BE SPENT AS A CAP

Send the House: You really want to make an impression?  How about you and your primary coaching staff travel for a face to face visit with the player/agent and the full court press to sign them showing them they are your number one priority.  This meeting will occupy a full phase and prevent you from making any other offers/pitches for that phase, but it also occupies the player for the entire phase so that others may not "send the house" or bring him in for a "facility visit." Costs: Minimum $750K (no maximum)  NOTE:  Player must accept your request to visit, if you are turned down you may pivot to other options for other targets. 15 contact points

Facility Visit: Invite the player to travel to your team facility for a tour and a sit down.  This is a multi-hour visit, so you are only able to invite a maximum of 4 players in a single phase. There is a maximum of two stadium visits a player can/will make in a single phase.  Cost: $250K per visit NOTE:  Player must accept your request to visit, if you are turned down you may pivot to other options for other targets. 10 contact points

Video Call Pitch: Your chance to make a detailed pitch to a free agent and agent via video call.  Your pitch can influence the players decision, so choose your words wisely!  Cost: $100K per pitch
5 contact points

Phone Call:  Call an agent, offer him a contract for a client of his.  The agent may negotiate if the interest is high enough or they may take the offer and make a decision later.  Player preference boosts to contracts are ignored as the player is not privy to the negotiations. (player dislikes are not ignored, however). 3 contact points

Text Message: The least personal of all, text a contract to the agent (years and salary, no incentives or other add ons allowed).  This offer will not receive a counter and rarely an immediate reaction, but it will be considered at the end of each phase whey players decide their future but the lack of personal touch to this form of communication will degrade its value. 1 contact point


For Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Unrestricted Free Agency, each team will be allotted a total of 20 contact points to spend.

For Phase 3 each team will be allotted a total of 14 contact points.

If a team uses more than the allotted contact points in a given phase, they will be fined and lose contact points for the next phase.

After phase three of UFA expires, team threads will be open for the free agency free for all.  Simply reach out to an agent in your team thread and offer a contract.  May the best man win!

REMEMBER:  Agents will react poorly and sometimes TERRIBLY if you try to sign more than one player at once.

If a team uses more than the allotted contact points in a given phase, they will be fined and lose contact points for the next phase.

PM me your list of targets and your contact points spent.

If a player is not interested, you will be given the opportunity to replace them, which means this first 24 hours is just sending me the list of players you want and how your contact points are being used.

I'll reply after the deadline and let you know the result.  If players want to meet, you'll have a period of time to do the offers/interactions.

Once that is complete, phase two will begin.


DEADLINE TO SUBMIT INTEREST -  28 AUGUST 11PM EASTERN

YOU HAVE UNTIL SUNDAY (SEPTEMBER 1ST) AT 12PM NOON TO LEAGUE OFFICE YOUR FREE AGENCY CONTRACTS.
