BREAKING NEWS: LOGAN IRWIN LIVID AFTER GM FOSTERS LEAKES CONTRACT TALKS; OWNER SAYS GM WILL NEVER HAVE A SEAT AT THE TABLE IN SYDNEY AFTER EXPOSING BUSINESS!

SYDNEY -- Stingrays Owner Logan Irwin took to social media to voice his displeasure after contract talks between himself and GM Bruce Fosters were leaked to outside sources.  Irwin said the talks were between only the two of them so the leak had to have come from the Salt Lake GM's office.

"I believe in this business what's said it private should stay in private, yeah?" Irwin said, "Professionalism comes first, and the fact that while I'm still searching for a bloke to lead my club, a candidate I offered is telling people about the offer not only undermines my efforts, but could be seen as collusion if he's leaking figures to the next bloke I offer a contract to.  I'm filing a formal request for an investigation into collusion among the HIFL GMs immediately."

BREAKING NEWS: HIFLGMA, HIFLPA, AND OWNERS AGREE ON NEW CBA FOR S17 AND S18!

GM Pancho Libre, Commissioner Riley Wilkinson, and newly elected HIFLPA president Elvis Edward announced today the ratification of the S17-18 High Impact Football League Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The new CBA will see many changes based on player, owner, and GM wants and needs during the negotiations.  None of which is larger than the $35MM increase to the HIFL salary cap.  For Season 17 and Season 18, the HIFL will operate with a $270MM salary cap and a $60MM bonus pool up from the last CBA's 235-55 figures.

The smaller increase in bonus may be a disappointment to some, but there are new mechanics in place to help teams fortify their off-season bonus money if they do not spend all of their salary cap.

The league will now allow for a rebate on unspent salary cap money, converting 50% of the remainder of unused cap space to either International Bonus Pool or off-season Bonus Pool money at the GM's discretion.   In an effort to avoid abuse of this system however the CBA will also require a MINIMUM Salary cap threshold of 90% meaning teams MUST spend a minimum of $243MM per season to roster a legal team.  Rosters MUST be at 53 players throughout the season unless a roster spot is forfeited due to league penalty, there will not be a situation that allows a team to field a roster of less than 53 players at any time after training camp lock in.

A pair of concessions that were made in order to reach the $35MM increase in salary cap was the elimination of two retention tools at GM's disposal.  First, the league will eliminate the Franchise Tag.  Teams will no longer have the option to franchise tag a player.   Teams will also no longer have rights to restricted free agents.  All expiring contracts will now become unrestricted free agents without the ability to tender compensation and gain draft compensation if a player is signed away.

The league will also introduce a waiver-wire system for all releases as well as implementing player and coaching salary off-sets, meaning if a player or coach is released and being paid by the releasing team but signs with another team during that same season, then their new salary from their new team will no longer count against their old teams cap, providing relief.

The new rules should allow for more roster movement and flexibility to a shrewd or strategic GM.

A full breakdown of the new CBA will be released to the HIFL Rules online later today.

DEVELOPING: MULTIPLE HIFL CLUBS REPORTING OUTAGES AND CYBER ISSUES IN WHAT COULD BE MAJOR CYBER SECURITY ATTACK

S16/17 OFF-SEASON

DEVELOPING: OAKLAND, PORTLAND, VANCOUVER, SALT LAKE, SYDNEY, AND PEARL HARBOR AMONG THOSE WITH COMPLETE LOSS OF DIGITAL ACCESS, REPORTS OF BEING LOCKED OUT OF TEAM FACILITIES IN SOME AREAS!

After reports came in earlier today that 'several' HIFL clubs were suffering from what was described as unexplained outages cyber issues that were viewed as potential cyber attacks, more information is beginning to trickle out to the public. Here is what we know so far:

At 0200hrs Pacific Time, officers in Oakland and Portland each reported loss of access to team integrated services online.  A short while later each organization lost communication with the league office through the HIFL's dedicated server.

At 0300hrs Vancouver, Sydney, and Pearl Harbor each reported similar issues.

By 0600hrs six franchises had lost digital services and access to critical league functions and the HIFL league office sent an internal memo to the unaffected teams in the league to complete an emergency back up of all vital files and data and to check with their own cyber security for potential threats or attacks on the networks.

At 0700hrs the league was alerted by its own cyber secruity center that there were major cyber attacks being launched on the league office but the hackers were unsuccessful in  breaching the league's security measures.

The league is working with law enforcement and cyber secruity experts to get to the root of the issues but immediately fingers have been pointed by several unnamed HIFL owners and executives at the league's two most techniologically sound powers.   Long Beach's Neil Cohen and Seattle's Hal Yutani-Tyrell.

We will keep you updated as more news develops on this story.

HIFL ON LOCKDOWN: AT LEAST 31 CLUBS COMPLETELY LOCKED OUT OF ALL DIGITAL ACCESS, LEAGUE REVEALS THREATS TO VENUES AS PART OF LARGER SCALED THREAT FROM HACKER GROUP!

After reports earlier in the week that an undisclosed number of franchises were facing cyber and/or digital , the High Impact Football League finds itself facing an unprecedented challenge that could possibly derail the entire 2026 HIFL Season.

A clandestine group of cybercriminals, known as дети правды or "The Children of Veritas" has infiltrated the league's intricate digital infrastructure, compromising the security of all 32 home venues and posing a significant threat to the safety of players, staff, and fans as well as individual team finances and communications. The organization has also seized HIFL financing departments, scouting departments, anything and everything that the HIFL operates with over the internet including social media and digital advertising.

While  the Children of Veritas continue to be pursued by cybersecurity experts and law enforcement agencies, the HIFL remains resolute in its commitment to combating cyber threats and ensuring the safety of its players, fans, venues, and organizations finances.  Jack Bowser ha already offer his services in helping resolve the issue, but with no way to league office expenditures, it is unknown how things can or will play out.

OPINION:  HIFL GM UNION SQUABBLE TO BLAME FOR POTENTIAL LOSS OF 2026 SEASON

This week we learned of a possible issue within the HIFL's GM Union.  Recently elected GM Rep Pancho Libre has rubbed several of his colleagues the wrong way since negotiating the latest CBA with the owners and players union on behalf of the GMs.    Shortly after the new CBA GM Kirk, a season 5 original, announced his retirement from the front office due to displeasure with the direction of the league and others quickly voices their own unhappiness as GM Pancho pursued a clandestine vote to bring on mandatory dues from each GM to be a part of the Union, something that had never been done before; this lead to nearly half of the leagues GM voting against the measure while a majority of those "no" voters also threatened to leave the GM Union if the vote passed.

The dispute within the HIFL GM Union over mandatory dues and the subsequent schism among the 32 general managers could have indirectly contributed to the cyber attack by the "Children of Veritas." The division within the union created an environment of internal turmoil and weakened unity among the league's key decision-makers. This internal strife may have inadvertently made the HIFL more vulnerable to external threats, including these specific cyber attacks.

The mandatory dues fracture resulted in a deepening rift among the GMs, with a rumored 15 of them seeking to opt out of the union. This division not only weakened the collective bargaining power of the GMs but also created an atmosphere of distrust and disarray within the league's administrative structure. Such internal conflicts and distractions can divert attention and resources away from critical matters, including maintaining robust cybersecurity protocols.

The schism within the GM union may have created opportunities for the Russian hacking group to exploit the HIFL's vulnerabilities.
