UFA: LINEBACKER STEPHEN LEAKE SAYS HE WILL NOT MEET WITH MYRTLE BEACH AFTER GM GOOCH MAKES PITCH BEFORE BEING CONFIRMED TO TALK ON DAY 2!

It's been a rocky start to the off-season for GM Buckson Gooch and the Myrtle Beach Mastodons.  Today the troubles continued as the veteran GM breached protocol by phoning Linebacker Stephen Leake before the LB and his agent confirmed their willingness to meet and chat.

As a result, Leake has said he is not willing to hear from Myrtle Beach, effectively burning their chance to make a signing on day 2 of early free agency.

The league continues to encourage GMs to slow down and play by the rules.

BREAKING NEWS: DESPERATE FOR A NEW STAR, CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM SIGN COMPETITIVE "McFADDEN" VIDEO GAME STAR RODDY "GAMER" McCORMICK TO ONE YEAR DEAL!

TORONTO -- The Canadian National Team has made waves this week by signing a professional gamer to a football contract.
While other teams have signed controversial figures who did not play football during this off-season, the Canadians decision to sign Gamer McCormick to a deal was intentional, as the club looks to find new stars to develop in an effort to get more eyes on the product and boost ticket sales which have fallen off in recent years with the emergence of The HIFL's Vancouver Wolfpack and Winnipeg Arctic Foxes.

Known as Gamer McCormick, Roddy McCormick is a 18 year old native of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia who has been winning international McFadden eSports tournaments for the past three years which he has parlayed into a lucrative twitch streaming channel as well.    Now Gamer will look to prove his abilities on the field can match his abilities on the sticks.   The recent high school graduate did play three years of high school ball and has turned down scholarship offers to play college football with multiple Big Sixteen Conference clubs.

It is unknown what position he will play but all eyes will surely be on the teen when the IFAF season kicks off!

HIFL ANNOUNCES MIAMI, FLORIDA WILL HOST IMPACT BOWL 17 -- MIAMI KILLER WHALES OWNER CLAY BIGGS MAKES MAJOR INVESTMENT IN STADIUM UPGRADES TO ENSURE CITY WINS THE BID!

MIAMI -- A year ago, Clay Biggs purchased the Miami Killer Whales, now after the team came within one game of returning to the Impact Bowl, the South Beach Billionaire has invested heavily in upgrading the teams stadium to help secure a bid for Miami to play host to the biggest football game of the year as the HIFL announces that Impact Bowl 17 will be played on South Beach.

"Miami is the party capital of the world and that is why the biggest football party of the year should be played right here!" Biggs said in a statement where he signed a large ceremonial check to pay for the new State of the Art Stadium that is set to be completed just in time to be christened by Impact Bowl 17.

Since their inception in the American Premier League prior to joining the HIFL, Miami has played in the same stadium, but upon Biggs' purchase of the team, he immediately began working on the construction of what could be the nicest stadium in the league, to include a retractable roof and some of the most immersive experiences in the sport.

The HIFL has recently taken to a US-International pattern with the Impact Bowl  having alternated from Louisiana to Netherlands to North Carolina, to United Kingdom, and now to Miami; with Impact Bowl 18 the next international possibility, Countries are lining up to woo the league and attempt to bring the massive economic stimulation that the Impact Bowl provides to their homelands.

COMBINE NEWS: GM REBEL AND ORLANDO STAFF BUSTED FOR TRYING TO RECORD EXTRA EVENTS, LEAGUE DOCKS $7MM IN EXTRA ASSETS!

ST PAUL -- The 2026-27 Draft Combine has taken an interesting turn as the league announced a $7MM fine to the Orlando Stampede organization after the team attempted to attend more than the allowed amount of scouting events at the combine by using $7MM in additional assets to record and document several additional events while the main body of their scouting department was attending their priority events.

The league has announced that the additional assets would be seized and not returned, costing the club an estimated $7MM in off-season bonus, but keeping the combine playing field level.

FemFL SHOWCASE SET TO KICK OFF AS ALL EYES ARE ON WHICH HIFL GM'S SHOW UP! FemFL COMMISSIONER TOMI BRANDY ANNOUNCES LIST OF ATHLETES SET FOR SHOWCASE!

MIAMI -- The FemFL, the highest quality female football league in the world, is set to kick off this week with its first ever HIFL showcase with the help of Miami Killer Whales GM, CJ Gates.   The event will cost attendees  a minimum of $250K , but the FemFL is providing the league's top 38 stars from various positions who hope to impress enough to get a shot at HIFL stardom.

Female players are not unheard of in the HIFL, Miami's RB1 Maria Crews broke that barrier after being drafted 18th overall in the 2020 amateur draft, six years ago.  During that period she has rushed for just shy of 7500 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry and collecting 70 rushing TDs, and another 2100 yards and 10 TDs in the passing game along with 5 more special teams touchdowns as a punt returner, however durability is always a concern amongst scouts and GMs.

Currently the University of Alabama Crimson Tide feature a senior cornerback, Maria Rhea, a 6'0 corner who has managed 7 INTs and 40 PDs across her 3+ year career with the Tide, showing their are a variety of paths to the pros, but with FemFL, founded in 2020 appears to be the most likely route as coaches and players work to develop their skills and build popularity.

Commissioner Tomi Brandy spoke with media today releasing the roster of attendees for the showcase among them a host of the league's biggest and brightest stars.

  • Ava Boldier - a former powerlifter and professional wrestler who plays both sides of the line.
  • Beth Jones - a star flag football QB who became the first female QB to win a state championship in high school.
  • Betty Bulger - Roller Derby star turned running back with a nose for the end zone.
  • Britni Fierce - Martial Artist and social media mega-star who brings a large following.
  • Cherry and Peaches de la Crema - Twin sisters who rose to stardom dominating the college basketball scene before transitioning to football when the FemFL offered a lucrative deal.
  • Cinnamon Snaps - Gymnast turned football star who uses her athleticism to dazzle viewers
  • Clara Roze - Rising Canadian star Wide Receiver who was the first female to be offered a spot on the Canadian National team
  • Clarissa Rizzo - Cla-rizzo is the younger sister of former HIFL QB Corey Rizzo who made her name as a hip hop star prior to crossing over to football.
  • Diamond Starz - From Cheerleader to Superstar, this heiress has taken her athleticism and turned it into touchdowns in short order.
  • Emma Moss - Australia's top female prospect in 2023, Moss set a record for interceptions in the international trials held three years ago when the FemFL expanded to invite international players to join their ranks.
  • Gail Storms - A UK product who packs a punch at linebacker.
  • Harriett Patton - Niece of "The General" Merv Patton who dazzles with her deep passing.
  • Heaven Lee - Electric speed in a tiny package, this former professional dancer has all the right moves
  • Jamie Barger - Twin sister of the Music City QB, Jamie shined last season as a rookie at QB
  • Jannet Fields - Very athletic like her brother Justin, Fields is a dynamic safety with speed for days
  • Jenny Blades - Former professional skateboarder turned edgy corner
  • Karen Ryan - Some call her "the team mom" but she brings a wealth of experience and passion to the field.
  • Kat Daley - Swagger and attitude mixed with hard hits and trash talk from this linebacker.
  • Marijuana Prescott - Edge Rusher with a long reach and a pro bloodline.
  • Martini Lewis - Sister of Genaro Lewis, this running back packs a lot of dynamite in a small package
  • McKayla Herbie - Former child TV show star who converted to football, now playing Center.
  • Melissa Danvers - Track and Field Star in college, Danvers now is making heroic plays at wide reciever.
  • Mercedes Mantalban - Carrying on the family tradition, this export from Mexico hits just as hard at linebacker as her older brother.
  • Nia Uso - A book end tackle from the Pacific Islands.
  • Nicole O'Neil - Staten Island's own, Nicole brings eyes to the product with her flashy play
  • Nikky Neck - from unknown to viral star, Nikky is a tall receiver on the outside.

BREAKING NEWS:  LEAGUE ANNOUNCES DECISION TO ALLOW FOR "EXPANDED ROSTERS" DURING PRE-SEASON!

ST PAUL -- While the HIFL scouting combine slowly comes to a close, HIFL Commissioner Riley Wilkinson announced a decision to allow for expanded rosters during the pre-season, giving teams the opportunity to evaluate more talent and also protect/rest star players during pre-season games.

The new rule will allow teams to lock in for training camp with a new maximum roster size of 60.

During pre-season games, teams will be limited to a 53 man active roster with any remaining players being inactive, those inactive players will be at the discretion of the GM, but will allow star players or injured players to sit out without taking up a roster spot on game day.

At the end of pre-season, prior to locking in for week 1 of the regular season, teams will be forced to trim their rosters down to 53, however any player cut during the week one trim-down period will have special rules attached to them to help with roster flexibility.

Any player released during the week 1 trim down period will be paid 10% of their contract salary for the current season and 50% of their contract for the remainder of the contract unless otherwise specified in the language of their contract.

Any player on a one year rookie minimum or one/final year veteran minimum contract will not count against the teams salary cap at all (100% off the books).

Any player released during this period will still be subject to the newly imposed waiver wire but upon clearing waivers would only cost against the cap in the ways mentioned above.

DRAFT SZN!  CANCUN OFFICIALLY INFORMS BIDDERS TEAM WILL NOT TRADE #1 OVERALL PICK; GM ELI BELIEVED TO BE SET ON HIS CHOICE FOR TOP PICK IN THE DRAFT!

With trade and draft fever at an all time high, one team is breaking hearts and bursting bubbles as GM Eli and the Cancun Mutineers are set and locked in to who they are taking with the number one overall pick in the S17 Amateur draft.

"They aren't moving the pick, period." One rival GM told ESPN, while another said, "They have told us they know who they want and they are taking him. It doesn't matter if someone offered them 6 firsts, this is a done deal."

Many around the league expect the pick to be uber-hyped North Carolina DE Elijah Peppers, but others who worked hard at the scouting combine very well may have found other players suitable to be the draft's top choice; either way, all eyes will be on GM Eli when he takes to the podium to announce the #1 overall pick.

The Draft is set to kick off at 6PM on Friday night.

PFL DRAFT: OKLAHOMA CITY'S DECISION TO DRAFT UCLA QB JOSEPH POWELL #12 LEADS TO DUAL-THREAT SUPER STAR RICHARD LANDON REQUESTING TRADE!

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Richard Landon has rushed for 4,171 yards and 47 touchdowns over the last three season as the starter of the Oklahoma City Oilers while throwing for 10,240 yards, 85 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions, however those brilliant offensive numbers have failed to lead to Oilers to the playoffs, and as a result GM Reya Serra elected to draft high-end QB prospect Joseph Powell with the 12th pick in the draft.

With Powell the clear QB of the future for the Oilers, Landon has requested a trade to a team that will commit to him with a new long term contract paying him more than the criminally low $1.3MM he is set to make this season.

Landon has often been compared to the HIFL's Jamie Ortega.
