LEAGUE ANNOUNCES FIRST EVER JAMES WELLS GOOD GUY AWARD RECIPIENT, SAN ANTONIO EDGE RUSHER GORDON HAYNES!

San Antonio Knights' defensive end Gordon Haynes has been honored as the inaugural recipient of the HIFL's James Wells Good Guy Award. This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding sportsmanship and commendable character both on and off the field. Haynes, known for his philanthropic efforts and exemplary conduct in the community, has consistently demonstrated qualities that embody the spirit of the award.

The James Wells Good Guy Award is named after the late James Wells aka GM Black Death, the former general manager of the San Antonio Knights, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. Wells was revered for his integrity and dedication to the league and its players, making this award a fitting tribute to his legacy. Haynes' selection as the first awardee highlights his significant contributions to the sport and community, aligning perfectly with the values that GM BD championed throughout his career.

After receiving the award an emotional Haynes simply said:  "BD, this one's for you, Bub."

BREAKING NEWS: GM BIG DOG INFORMED BY COHEN, MERMEN THAT SHE WILL NOT BE OFFERED A CONTRACT EXTENSION AS TEAM PURSUES NEW DIRECTION AT GM!

LONG BEACH -- Persephone "BIG DOG" Waters' time with the Long Beach Mermen has come to an end after three seasons.   "The Big Dog" was unorthodox but undeniably passionate, but after a rough season in Long Beach that saw the Mermen finish in last place in the division (despite having an opportunity to win the division in the final week of the season) lead to Neil Cohen decided the team would pursue a new front office for S18 and beyond.

During her 3 seasons with the Mermen, Waters compiled a 27-21-0 regular season record and a 1-2 playoff record reaching the playoffs in S15 and 16, but never winning the division.   Insiders believe she will have suitors as several other positions could come available this off-season.

BREAKING NEWS: GM JOHNNY REBEL OUT IN ORLANDO DESPITE 2 YEARS (AT 4MM) REMAINING ON CONTRACT!

ORLANDO -- GM Rebel is no longer the man running the show in Orlando.  The Stampede announced this evening that the decision has been made to release Rebel after 6 seasons in Central Florida.  The move comes after the Stampede watched a 5-1 crumble to a 6-10 finish good for last place in the Gulf Coast Division.

During his time with Orlando GM Rebel held a record of 46-49-1 and went 0-3 in the playoffs.   The Stampede won the division in S15 on the back of league MVP Alesana Tuilagi's record breaking rushing season, but now a pair of 6-10 finishes in S16 and S17 have been enough to make Matt Adores believe a change needed to be made.

BREAKING NEWS: MONGO WOODS MAKES SHOCKING DECISION TO PART WAYS WITH GM PANCHO AFTER 11 SEASONS, 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS AND ONLY 1 LOSING SEASON!

The football world is in shock after Alabama Owner Mongo Woods backed up the talk that Alabama has a higher standard than the rest of the High Impact Football League, terminating the contract of GM Pancho despite the Nighthawks winning 10 games this season and having not had a losing season since the 7-8-1 season in 2011 (S12).

GM Pancho has taken the Nighthawks to 4 division championships but none since Season 14.   He has taken the team to 3 Impact Bowls, but none since Season 13, and despite 9 playoff wins, the Nighthawks have not won a playoff game since winning the Impact Bowl in S13, having gone 0-3 across the last 4 seasons.

The move serves as a wake up call to the Nighthawks players and coaches and reminds everyone that The Nighthawks are not satisfied with regular season success.   The Post Season is what really matters to them.

GM Pancho leaves Alabama with a 114-58-3 regular season record and a 9-6 playoff record.

Woods is expected to be "big game hunting" for the next GM but the pressure to perform will obviously be insanely high in "Titletown USA"

BREAKING NEWS:  MILWAUKEE BARONS SOLD TO GERMAN BUSINESSMAN KLAUS MULLER; RELOCATION AND REBRANDING ANNOUNCED!

Munich, Germany – In a bold move that marks a significant shift in the landscape of the High Impact Football League (HIFL), renowned German businessman and CEO Klaus Müller has acquired the Milwaukee Barons with plans to relocate and transform the team into the Munich Griffins. This strategic decision introduces the first HIFL franchise in Germany, tapping into a burgeoning European market for American football.

Klaus Müller, often dubbed a titan of industry for his relentless approach to business and notorious for spearheading aggressive corporate takeovers, has set his sights on revolutionizing the HIFL. With an illustrious career that has reshaped the face of European corporate dynamics, Müller's latest venture into sports franchise ownership is poised to inject a new level of excitement and competition into the league.

"The Munich Griffins will not just be a team; they will be a symbol of strength, resilience, and strategy," Müller announced during the press conference at Munich's iconic Marienplatz. "We are here to compete at the highest level and to bring the spectacle of American football to the heart of Europe in a way that it has never been seen before."

The decision to rebrand the team to the Griffins — a creature that is mythologically revered for its majesty and power—reflects Müller's vision for the franchise. The team's new colors, purple, yellow, and white, pay homage to Munich's rich cultural heritage and royal symbolism.

The Munich Griffins will be headquartered in a state-of-the-art stadium planned for construction just outside the city center, with facilities touted to be among the most advanced in the league. This development is expected to bring substantial economic benefits to the region, including job creation and increased tourism.

Furthermore, Müller's commitment to community integration is evident through his pledge to support local youth sports programs and to collaborate with Munich's vibrant cultural scene to enhance the game-day experience. "We want the Griffins to be Munich's team, embraced by all, from local residents to the international visitors we welcome every year," Müller emphasized.

As the Munich Griffins prepare for their debut season, the excitement is palpable. Season tickets have already begun to sell at an unprecedented rate, indicating a strong local interest in American football and a deep trust in Müller's visionary leadership.

With this transformative leap, Klaus Müller is not just changing the game; he's setting the stage for a global HIFL presence that could very well redefine the future of American football abroad. The Munich Griffins are not merely a new team—they are a new beginning.

BREAKING NEWS: BEHR DANZER ANNOUNCES SALE OF BRUINS TO TV STAR JACKSON SULLIVAN, TEAM SET TO MOVE TO ALASKA!

ANCHORAGE -- In an unexpected twist in the High Impact Football League (HIFL), famous wilderness adventurer Jackson Sullivan, host of the hit television series "Frontier Limits," has purchased the Kansas City Bruins from Behr Danzer, known widely as the "High Chief" of the Sky Bear Casino. Sullivan, who hails from Anchorage, Alaska, announced his intention to relocate the franchise back to his hometown, rebranding them as the Anchorage Bruins.

The transaction, sealed this past Thursday, heralds a significant expansion for the HIFL, introducing professional football to Alaska's fiercely loyal sports fans and harsh environmental conditions. Sullivan's vision extends beyond sports entertainment; he aims to forge a deep connection with the Alaskan community and leverage the state's unique allure to rally a strong fan base.

"Alaska's spirit of resilience and endurance will be the cornerstone of the Anchorage Bruins," Sullivan declared during the press announcement. "We are more than ready to welcome the HIFL to Anchorage and demonstrate the extraordinary passion and vigor of Alaskans."

Jackson Sullivan, celebrated for his daring exploits and survival skills showcased on "Frontier Limits," brings a blend of celebrity appeal and business acumen to his new role. His deep roots in Anchorage fuel his commitment to the project, promising a localized approach to team management and community engagement.

Behr Danzer, during the transfer, shared a unique insight into his decision to sell: "The Great Sky Bear spoke to me, guiding me to pass the Bruins on to someone who holds as deep a connection to their land as I do to mine. Jackson's vision for the team in Anchorage convinced me that he was the chosen one to take this forward."

Plans are already underway for a cutting-edge stadium in Anchorage, designed to withstand the extreme conditions of the region, with Sullivan's leadership steering the project towards enhancing local sports infrastructure and community relations.

The relocation under Sullivan's stewardship is seen as a groundbreaking development for the league, poised to introduce a new chapter of professional football in a state celebrated for its rugged landscapes and adventurous spirit.

As the Anchorage community anticipates the arrival of the Bruins, the HIFL is gearing up for a dynamic shift in its competitive landscape, with the promise of new rivalries and a wider national reach. Under the star power and leadership of Jackson Sullivan, the Anchorage Bruins are set to carve out their legacy in the wild frontiers of Alaska.

PFL IN TURMOIL AS PROFITS, OWNERS CLASH OVER FUTURE OF TEAM/LEAGUE RELATIONS!

NEW YORK --  After heated negotiations and several face to face meetings between the PFL founder Ace Profits and the franchise owners from around the league, it appears tensions are at an all time high between several owners and the polarizing Profits.

Gaga Rockefeller, Ron Porsche, Travis Conejo, and Ace Profits are all currently in a sit down meeting at the leagues headquarters and each party's legal team is also in attendance.

Stay tuned.

BREAKING NEWS:  RON PORSCHE BEING FORCED TO CHOOSE BETWEEN OWNERSHIP OF VEGAS GAMBLERS (PFL) OR LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS (HIFL) DUE TO LANGUAGE REVEALED IN PLF CHARTER AGREEMENT!

NEW YORK --  Updates coming from the legal meetings between several PFL clubs and the league are coming fast a furiously.   Ron Porsche was just seen leaving Profits Tower in Manhattan and he was heated.   We over heard him literally screaming at his lawyers about something..

Profits later released a statement highlighting clauses in the legal agreements between teams and the PFL stating that owners would not be allowed to own teams in other American Sports leagues, meaning that Porsche must now choose whether to sell the Vegas Gamblers or the Las Vegas Scoprions.

Things are certainly getting more and more interesting.

Another source I met with indicates that New York, San Juan, and Mexico City have all shown great interest in leaving the PFL for the HIFL now that the league has an opening for what is currently being called "team 32"

BREAKING NEWS: PFL WINS COURT BATTLE WITH TEAM OWNERS, BLOCKING ANY POSSIBLE "DEFECTION" FROM ONE LEAGUE TO THE OTHER!

The dream of seeing the New York Empire in the HIFL is over this afternoon after Gaga Rockefeller and 22 other team owners agreed to a settlement deal with Ace Profits of the PFL to end what was quickly becoming one of the largest legal battles in professional sports history.

With several PFL clubs exploring leaving the PFL for the HIFL in what could have seen the HIFL balloon to a 40 Team League by adding one additional division of 4 teams to each conference; The PFL stopped the potential max exodus by agreeing to a larger revenue share of the massive TV rights deal with Disney.  Teams will nearly double their income from the TV deal now, with the top 4 markets receiving an even larger share thanks to the strong negotiation skills of Rockefeller and her legal team.

In the end the ends justify the means for Profits who keeps his 24 team league intact while maintaining that he hopes to eventually reach a 32 team league format that rivals the HIFL.

Meanwhile for the PFL, the negotiations did go completely south for The San Juan Coquis who had pushed hard to leave the league after Profits and team founder Travis Conejo's relationship evaporated during the regular season.   Conejo has since announced the Coquis would be liquidated effective immediately, meaning the PFL will be seeking an expansion team of its own in 2027.

BREAKING NEWS: AFTER LEAVING PFL, TRAVIS CONEJO AGREES TO PURCHASE SYDNEY STING RAYS AND MOVE CLUB TO SAN JUAN!

SAN JUAN -- In a seismic shift in the professional football landscape, Travis Conejo, the charismatic owner of the now-dissolved San Juan Coquis of the Professional Football League (PFL), has announced a groundbreaking move to acquire the Sydney Stingrays of the High Impact Football League (HIFL). The franchise will be relocated to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and rebranded as the San Juan Hurricanes, marking a significant departure from Conejo's previous involvement with the PFL.

This bold decision comes after a heated conflict with PFL Commissioner Ace Profits, who recently demanded that PFL teams commit to an extended stay in the league, coupled with an exorbitant $500 million buyout clause. Profits' aggressive strategy, aimed at stabilizing the league's future, has instead spurred Conejo to exit, citing constraints on team autonomy and financial flexibility.

"Football should be about passion, community, and the joy of the game, not just contractual obligations and prohibitive costs," Conejo stated at a press conference announcing the move. "Our decision to leave the PFL and join the HIFL is a step towards bringing back the excitement and cultural celebration of football to Puerto Rico, where it belongs."

The acquisition of the Sydney Stingrays offers a fresh start for the team in San Juan, with Conejo enthusiastic about integrating the team into the vibrant local culture. The newly named San Juan Hurricanes will adopt the colors blue, red, and white, reflecting the Puerto Rican flag, and aim to embody the resilience and spirit of the island.

Logan Irwin, the former owner of the Stingrays, expressed his support for the sale, noting that Conejo's vision for the team in Puerto Rico aligns with the HIFL's goals of expanding its international footprint and embracing diverse markets.

The rebranded San Juan Hurricanes are expected to bring a new wave of enthusiasm for football in the Caribbean. Conejo's plans include extensive community engagement initiatives and the development of a state-of-the-art stadium that resonates with the architectural and cultural ethos of Puerto Rico.

Fans in Puerto Rico and across the HIFL are already celebrating the news, eager to support their new home team. With Conejo at the helm, the San Juan Hurricanes promise to be a formidable addition to the HIFL, ready to take the league by storm with a fresh identity and an invigorated fan base.

As the HIFL welcomes the Hurricanes, the league looks forward to the vibrancy and competitive spirit they are set to bring, while the PFL grapples with the ramifications of Conejo's departure and the ongoing tensions under Commissioner Profits' leadership.

BREAKING NEWS: TEAM 32 REVEALED TO BE THE MEXICO CITY GOLDEN EAGLES!

MEXICO CITY -- In the vibrant tapestry of Mexican culture, the name Reyes resonates as a beacon of loyalty and integrity. Literally meaning Kings in Spanish, Javier was raised in a wealthy family with a rich legacy in both lucha libre and cattle ranching. Javier's upbringing was steeped in tradition and honor.

The Reyes lineage traces back to Javier's grandfather, a legendary luchador whose prowess in the ring was matched only by his shrewd business acumen. While amassing victories in the arena of lucha libre, he wisely invested cattle, laying what would become the foundation for the family's enduring prosperity. Despite the family's success in both lucha libre and ranching, Javier's parents made the decision to distance themselves from the world of professional wrestling, opting instead to focus solely on the cattle business.

However, they maintained a deep respect for their lucha libre roots, continuing to wear luchador masks as a symbol of their heritage and as a precautionary measure against the dangers that lurked in Mexico's shadows.  In a tradition similar to a Bah Mitzvah or a Quincañera, Javier chose the mantle of hunter as his luchador mask.  From that day forward, as well as into his formative years, Javier's own path began to take shape.  He quickly became top of his class, excelled in athletics and became an avid cattle rancher. Instilled with values of loyalty, integrity, and a fierce determination to uphold his family's honor, Javier emerged as someone that could fix others mistakes. He soon took the nickname of "El Arreglador" – The Fixer.

As fate would have it, Javier's journey led him into the orbit of Dellin "Del" Beltran, a controversial businessman with alleged cartel connections. Climbing the ranks of his business he further diversified his families fortune massively increasing their wealth.  Despite the risks and allegations that surrounded Del's reputation, Javier stood by his mentor despite his families fame and name. Showing unwavering dedication and a knack for navigating the treacherous waters of the business world, Javier came to serve as Del's general manager for the Gallos Negros de Mexico City in the PFL (Professional Football League), a rival league to the HIFL. Through his experiences with Del and the Gallos Negros, Javier honed his skills as a savvy negotiator and astute strategist, laying the groundwork for his own ambitions in the world of professional football ownership.

With the passing of his father, and gaining the full inheritance of his families fortune, Javier "El Arreglador" Reyes stands ready to carve out his own legacy in the High Impact Football League. With his unwavering loyalty, steadfast integrity, and a commitment to keeping his word, Javier is poised to make a lasting impact on the world of sports and business alike.

BREAKING NEWS: GM REBEL BACK WITH STAMPEDE!

MADRID –- In a shocking turn of events, The Madrid Stampede have named their next GM and the first of the Madrid era, by undoing the last act of former owner Matt Adores.
Today, Pablo Oro announced his decision to sign recently fired Johnny Rebel as the teams GM on a short term, low risk deal.

"This franchise is going through the largest change a team can experience," Oro said during his introductory press conference, adding "I believe the locker room needs consistency while the rest of the team is changing, and that comes with a GM who knows the roster.  GM Rebel has agreed to return on a slightly lower salary, and in the end I believe this could be the re-start of a much longer and more successful partnership here with the Stampede."

BREAKING NEWS: ANCHORAGE WELCOMES YOUNGEST GM IN THE LEAGUE WITH ROOKIE HIRE!

MEXICO CITY -- The Anchorage Bruins have kicked off their new era by hiring the youngest GM in the High Impact Football League.

26 year old Donald Yount spent a short stint on the end of the then Tottenham Bats' roster after joining them as a UDFA linebacker out of the University of South Carolina before transitioning to a role on GM BIG DOG's staff. The former Executive of the Year was reportedly contacted by teams after she became available, but stayed true to her word that she wasn't going to GM another team after Long Beach.

Instead, she told prospective employers "IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A GM, HIT UP MY PROTEGE DIRTY DAN OL DANNY MAKES SOME INDEPENDENT DECISIONS INSTEAD OF DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE BIG DOG WOULD WHICH ISNT IDEAL BUT HES LEARNED ALL THE TRICKS TO BIGDOGITUDE IF HE CHOOSES TO USE THEM".

Once Yount informed Jackson Sullivan his name was actually Don not Dan, he reportedly impressed the Anchorage owner with his straightforward nature in relaying what he'd learned to do ... and not to do, under Persephone Waters' tutelage.  All of Alaska will be hoping this unorthodox choice will turn out to be one last gem unearthed by THE BIG DOG & not just another name she butchered.

Reaching out to the coaching staff of South Carolina, they spoke highly of Yount's football IQ and leadership, making him a fine choice for a front office position.  Time will tell if this hire is the right one, but The Bruins appear to be set to continue the tradition of hiring unproven talent at the General Manager position.

GM PANCHO HIRES REPRESENTATION TO HELP NEGOTIATE NEXT CONTRACT AFTER SHOCKING DISMISSAL FROM NIGHTHAWKS

LOS ANGELES --- The GM Carousel has begun in the HIFL world already seeing shocking moves from GM Wayne leaving Cleveland for Mexico City, to GM Rebel being let go by the Orlando Stampede only to be hired again by the Madrid Stampede.  Most have kept an eye on the vacancies filling up and are surprised to find that GM Pancho Veracruz De La Hoya Cardenal Libre has not obtained employment.  Many thought he would be the first name that teams would reach out for given his experience and winning history.

We've just received confirmation that Mr. Libre isn't the primary contact dealing with teams.  GM Pancho has hired long time consultant Thalia Erika Banuelos to assist him in this transition period.  "Ms. Banuelos and I know each other since our time together at UCLA.  I've trusted her with many personal decisions in the past so it seemed an easy decision to make this role an official one as I transition to my next job opportunity." Ms. Banuelos has no experience in sports law but has vast experience working in Hollywood facilitating deals between competing movie studios. Many rumored that it was her involvement that facilitated the deal between Sony and Disney allowing the use of Spider-man to be used by both companies.  She had stepped away from the movie industry focusing on using her connections to begin her own non profit aimed at improving her local community in Los Angeles.  An unnamed source referred to her as "a bulldog. Tenacious and ruthless negotiator."

Where GM Pancho will land is still up in the air – but rumors are swirling that Ms. Banuelos isn't just looking at teams with open vacancies but that are the best fit for her client, regardless of someone currently being employed in the position.  What that means for other GM's remains to be seen.

BREAKING NEWS: NY DISTRICT COURT RULES HIFL AND PFL CAN NOT RESTRICT MOVEMENT BETWEEN LEAGUES!

NEW YORK -- Professional Football has been in the courts quite a bit this year, from the legal battle between the PFL owner Ace Profits and the team owners in the league battling over buyouts and the ability of teams to exit the league despite a large exit-fee in the TV rights deal with Disney, to the HIFLPA and legal scholars determining that fully guaranteed contracts could not force an implied no trade clause.

The latest and hopefully final bit of league news in football is one that could reshape how the HIFL off-season plays out, especially in regards to the HIFL's upcoming Expansion Draft.   A judge ruled today that the HIFL and PFL could not collude to force "equal salary trading" or to restrict players ability to forfeit their current contract to pursue work in the other league.  Citing a 2024 no-compete clause ruling along with the precedents set with HIFL GM's forfeiting their contracts to take other positions within the same league, the court ruled that players can exit their contract at any time as long as they do not sign with another team in the same league.    This news makes for a wild power shift as players can once again walk away from a bad situation if the player/GM relationship falls apart.

Also it opens the door for the HIFL's expansion franchise in Mexico City to have the ability to pursue PFL players to help bolster their roster.   While both leagues can also poach talent now, it is expected that some sort of "soft cap" on the amount of poaching is agreed upon in a "gentleman's agreement" type situation, but right now both league commissioners appear to be concerned about the possibility of all out war this off-season.

2027 WORLD CUP:  JAMAICA PULLS ULTIMATE UPSET, TOPPLING USA 28-24!

BUDAPEST -- With star quarterback Charley Race missing his 2nd straight game due to an injury he suffered vs. Canada in the quarter-finals, The United States (lead by "Bullet" Bob Podolski) struggled to find the magic their offense had produced all season long against an Underdog Jamaica team that never let up.

In the end, A Podolski pass intended for former college teammate Tito Williams went into the hands of a Jamaican defender to seal the game and deliver a World Cup to Jamaica for the first time in IFAF history.   For Team USA it is the second straight year of losing in a tournament finale, after falling to Croatia last year in the 2026 World Championships.

After the game several Team USA players lingered on the field as rumors swirl that they will be eying a move to the HIFL or PFL this coming off-season.

CLERICAL ERROR COSTS PEARL HARBOR A YEAR (AND $750K) OF NEW KOZLOWSKI CONTRACT AFTER GM ANNELI FAILS TO NOTE CONTRACT STARTS S18

HONOLULU --  First year GM Tommy Anelli cost his team $750K in cash and a year of service from All-Star Fullback Randall Kozlowski after the league office received the contract signed by both parties only to find the contract did not specify the start date of the contract, meaning by default, the deal went into effect immediately from the S17 salary cap.

Luckily for Anelli and the Predators, the team had the remaining salary cap available to absorb the cap hit without going over the cap and suffering the catastrophic $5MM fine that comes with such a violation.

Kozlowski tweeted about the error making light of the mistake.  "Just got a bonus check of $750K for my new deal.  Didn't realize I was starting the deal now, pretty cool.  Ma!  I'm buying you a new house!"

BREAKING NEWS:  GM PANCHO OMMITS S18 START FOR BIG ESTATES CONTRACT, STARS OVER THE CAP RESULTING IN BIG FINE AND POSSIBILY DEVASTATING AFTER SHOCKS!

TUCSON -- The Tucson Stars welcomed GM Pancho to the front office earlier this week and the 3-time Impact Bowl winner's first act as GM was to strike a 3-year $20MM deal to keep Randall Estates in a Stars uniform after a strong post-season run.   That deal ($15MM and $5MM in bonus cash) was intended to go into effect at the start of the S18 league year, however the league office announced today that the contract did not state a deferred start date, thus going into effect during the S17 league year, and putting the Stars over the salary cap.   After the $5MM salary cap fine that comes with such a violation, the Stars find themselves a devastating $18.53MM OVER the salary cap and now must work to clear cap space via the upcoming off-season Amnesty and little other help due to the time of year and lack of cap relief that comes after all games have been completed.

The news has rocked the Tucson world as coaches, players, and even GM Pancho had already left the area to take a short break before the off-season begins.

The league expects Tucson to clear the cap space needed and to reach roster compliance immediately, meaning GM Pancho's work is just beginning.

TRADE RUMORS: AFTER RELOCATING TO PUERTO RICO, GM LUCAS' PLANS TO TEAR DOWN AND REBUILD ROSTER HAS S17 PRIZE SIGNING LOOKING FOR A QUICK EXIT!

SAN JUAN -- Call it buyers remorse on both ends, but after a lengthy free agency courting during international free agency just under a year ago, the San Juan Hurricanes and SS Hideki Okada appear headed for a split.   As insiders reveal San Juan is shopping "anyone and everyone" on the roster, Okada appears displeased with the plans as well as the clubs move from Australia to the Caribbean.

"One of the reasons Hideki chose Sydney over Atlanta last season was the proximity to Japan.  If a team like Pearl Harbor, or one of the other West Coast teams are interested, we may even consider a contract restructure."  said Okada's agent Mila Tkachuk.

where Okada plays next season is still to be determined, but Tkachuk also indicated the 22 year old strong safety had "zero interest" in playing in the PFL or returning to the IFAF.
