The Following is the schedule of events for the off-season

1. END OF SEASON PRESS-CONFERENCES

- The Impact Bowl teams address the media after the big game.


2. END OF SEASON OWNER MEETINGS

- The Impact Bowl Teams meet with their owners to close out their season.  Once both teams lock in the off-season will officially begin.

OFF-SEASON BEGINS


Once the Impact Bowl teams have completed their end of season tasks all threads will auto-lock.   Teams who do not complete their tasks prior to auto-lock are subject to an off-season budget fine. (not applicable this season!)

Once threads unlock, your secretary will give you a basic rundown of your current standing.
- Available off-season money.
- Tax Bill owed (if applicable)
- Available Salary and Bonus Money for the upcoming season.
- Roster Needs
- Coaching Needs
- Any other information that needs to be announced (players requesting trades, etc)


YOUR FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS IS TO TALK WITH YOUR HEAD COACH ABOUT THE UPCOMING SEASON'S COACHING STAFF!

If you have a head coach :  Talk to him and he will give you budget options for the staff.

If your coach has expired, you decide to fire your head coach, or you do not have a head coach : you may begin interviewing head coach candidates.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENCY PERIOD & FRANCHISE TAG DEADLINE

STARTING TODAY (8/18/22)

Once RFA begins teams will begin to negotiate with RFA eligible players.   If negotiations fall through, general managers will have the option to inform the league office that they are extending a qualifying offer to the player(s) in question.

Once a QO is league office'd negotiations are over.  The deadline for RFA will conclude with all players who were offered a qualifying offer announcing their decision to either accept the QO or Reject it to head into UFA.

The deadline to offer a qualifying offer is the same deadline to utilize your franchise tag (to be announced soon)

ONCE THE FRANCHISE TAG IS PLACED ON A PLAYER HE IMMEDIATELY BECOMES ELIGIBLE TO NEGOTIATE AND SIGN WITH ANY FRANCHISE. (Franchise tag starts BEFORE UFA)



Prior to deciding to use your franchise tag -- you are going to be afforded the opportunity to negotiate with up to THREE of your current UFA players (players who were on your roster last season but have expired contracts and are going to be unrestricted free agents this year).

RFA negotiations must occur in thread.

UFA negotiations will take place via PM on the boards.

Handle all of your RFA business before starting your UFA negotiations.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENCY PERIOD (RFA)

With the old "exclusive rights free agency" no longer existing, the pre-draft free agency period will now be reserved for Restricted Free Agency.  This is a time period prior to the draft where you have exclusive negotiating rights between yourself and your players who are free agents, but have only completed 3 years of service time (a 2 in the XP column of the team sheet and highlighted in purple instead of blue in the years column.)

During this period, GM's may negotiated via PM with their RFA's (restricted free agents) but their will be a strict deadline for the negotiation period, each negotiation needs to have its own PM thread (one PM per player, not making multiple offers in one private message).

If a deal is reached, it can be league officed, but if a deal is not reached then teams have the option to offer a qualifying offer to the player.  The qualifying offer means that one of two things can/will happen:

A: the player accepts the qualifying offer (see below) and is with the team on a 1 year contract. By accepting the qualifying offer, the player is guaranteed to become an unrestricted free agent next year (no matter how many years of experience he has) and may not be franchise tagged.  Players have until the start of the amateur draft to accept or reject a qualifying offer.

B: The player rejects the qualifying offer and enters free agency after the draft.  Any team signing said player will have to send a compensatory draft pick to the team that placed the qualifying offer.  This pick MUST be from the upcoming draft. (example: Team A makes a qualifying offer to Player X, Player X rejects the offer.  Player X then signs with Team B in UFA.   Team B must now send Team A a draft pick from the round designated via qualifying offer.)

A GM may submit the qualifying offer / place the round-tender to the league office at any time, you do not HAVE to inform an agent of this prior, but once the qualifying offer is submitted you will not negotiate with that player again until after the draft.

The higher the draft compensation tender, the higher the qualifying offer salary.

Once a player is tendered a qualifying offer they immediately become eligible to negotiation with other teams to sign a contract.

QUALIFYING OFFERS

1st Round Tender - 1yr $14MM

2nd Round Tender - 1yr $12MM

3rd Round Tender - 1yr $9MM

4th Round Tender - 1yr $6MM

5th Round Tender - 1yr $4MM

6th Round Tender - 1yr $3MM

7th Round Tender - 1yr $2MM

Note: Players who reject the qualifying offer and do not sign with another team during UFA will still have compensation attached to them until the week following the trade deadline.  Meaning any tendered RFA in free agency will have compensation requirements if signed any time from UFA up until Week 9 of the following season.
Any unsigned RFA after week 9 of that season will then be eligible to sign with any team as a UFA without draft pick compensation.



If a signing occurs PRE-DRAFT then the pick given up as compensation MUST come from the current draft. 


any signing that happens post-draft  during UFA or during the regular season  MUST come from the next draft.


If you do not have a pick in the round that the tender is placed, you AUTOMATICALLY send a pick in the next highest round. (if you only have a 1st, and you sign a 4th round tneder player... you owe a 3rd, dont have that so its a 2nd, dont have that... welp it cost you that First round pick.)

Once the deal is announced in the news or league office the pick is sent -- meaning if you screw up you cant go rushing to a friend to get a pick to cover your ass.

REMEMBER  - Teams may only use three RFA tenders and may not tender multiple players with the same round tender.

Guys in purple on your s15 with a 2 in the XP lost RFA eligibility when the season ended as they now have 3 yrs of XP.

My apologies for the oversight on that during the season.

After that we will end RFA and pre-UFA and transition into the GM/Owner meeting   AND international free agency (if anyone is posted).

S15/16 INTERNATIONAL FREE AGENCY

Begins:  8/28(midnight eastern time)


Ends: 9/3 (midnight eastern time)


Players will be posted via the league news, GMs may also reach out to IFAF teams via PM requesting a player be posted.

If you are interested in an IFAF player who has not been posted in the news; you need to reach out to the club via PM to request them post the player.  If not then their is no way they are made available.   

Requesting a player be posted does not insure they will; but it gives you a chance.

SCOUTING COMBINE AND OFF-SEASON SCOUTING

Once you have submitted your payment to enter the combine (see the combine thread for specifics) and the combine officially begins, you will be asked to submit your scouting requests for the combine via PM.

Once you have completed your scouting for the combine period and all reports are sent out the league will transition to close out the use of off-season bonus money at the start of the draft (once the deadline to submit scouting expires.) 

This season the Big Baller Brand's ComBBBine will also take place during this scouting period.



Just understand the combine period will run until I announce a deadline for scouting request and that deadline expires.  Until then, you are still able to spend your S15/16 off-season bonus money.
