BREAKING NEWS

Father and son reunited as Oaklands new coach and former coach of Panama City Breakers Jarvis Isenhour swings a deal for star his son and all-star center Rob Isenhour. The deal sends Zac Sheppard and rookie Ryu Ken Hiro to division rival Seattle Grunge for Rob Isenhour, Veteran star guard Dereck Fisher and a first round pick. Coach Isenhour commented on the deal....

"Swung a deal to get my boy to Oakland, I believe that's a first for WBS. Father and son coaching player duo, let me tell you why, Oakland is no longer going to be a mat for people to clean their feet on JACK!, There is still a ton of season to go so expect us to be in full competition mode. This is just a first deal in many. I am also announcing it so I am clear and transparent I will also be moving Lincoln Hollis, Jerome King, Vojislav Kraljevic and newly acquired PG Derek Fisher. Oakland will be a young, energetic team with a team first mentality. There is no room for complacency and complaining. It's a New Day, JACK! "

Interesting developments as Seattle just made a splash and are telling their fans that the playoffs are not enough. Seattle looks to be going for it all. On the Okland side of the ball, looks like he is cleaning house and flipping talented veteran guard Derek Fisher and moving former Steals leader and veteran all-star guard Jerome King. More to come on news that seems to be making waves throughout the league.

WEEK 5 NEWS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maryjan Javonich puts up 163 points in a 3 game span including two 65 point games back to back in what some are saying is the greatest back to back performance of a WBS players sine Bar Harbor's Noah Archer put up plus 50 points 4 games in a row back in season 7. With chants of MVP blarring at each home game Maryjan Javonavic is having his best season to date.

----------OTHER LEAGUE NEWS--------------

(Mist) - Smokey Mountain Jumps to 2nd place in the division with a 3 game win streak that saw 3 players get double digit Rebs and Points in 3 straight games. Coach Robert Murry known for being a tough no nonsense coach has found harmony coaching his young players. One young player said "He's tough, but fair" like my grandad.

(Moguls) Another sideline explosion after coach Bedard decides to start Anderson to motivate him quickly backfires as Deaundra refuses to leave the game late first quarter causing Hingle McCringleberry to grab Anderson and push him off the court. After being Benched for Anderson, SF Melikis tells reporters that "The locker room has become a circus like nothing he has ever seen" Owner Eddie Phoenix Jr says if GM Digger doesn't handle the situation this week he will have to make a decision if he wants to keep being the GM of Manhattan.

(Breakers) While Terrel Robinson is making his case for Rookie of the year, Panama city gets dealt two blows as Pabcevic and Thorton go down with nagging injuries they can't seem to shrug off during this weeks stretch of games. With only 4 wins fans and analyst can't figure out why with so much talent Panama can't seem to win games.

(Scorpions) A huge victory against Vancouver salvages what would have been 3 loses for Black Rock, but through the smoke comes a silver lining as Tobias Brown has really turned it on averaging 29 points during the stretch. Coach Jackson met with reporters and said "We have guys stepping up all over the place, they just haven't all stepped up together. Once we get everyone running on the same track we'll be dangerous considering how good Berry is playing right now"

(Grunge) Zac Sheppard fizzles offensively during the three-game stretch which has fans already calling the trade a bust and questioning GM Josh decision to trade away fan and locker room favorite Rob Isenhour. When approached about his performance Sheppard made it very clear "I'm here to win games and make money. We are winning games, I'm making money, life is good, I don't care about all that other noise"

(Hustle) Coach Isenhour has Oakland playing well as the trade that brings in his son Rob Isenhour who pours in 26 points and 10 rebs and opens up a spot for Alexander Ludwig who pours in 36 looks like a good move. While fans are still skeptical there seems to be new life back in Oakland.

(Freeze) While Vancouver's Derion Williams recovers and plays with heavy heart, he still manages to play well but while most teams that score 140 and 139 win those games, Vancouvers weakness is starting to show as their lack of defense late in games dooms them to 0-2 for the week. Coach Boone was very upset with their lost to Black Rock as he was overheard saying "How can we lose to a team llike this" as he was walking down the tunnel after the loss.

(Muertos) A heated exchange between Jared Anderson and Spark Phoenix was caught on camera at the end of the Seattle game after Spark Phoenix took the game winning 3 point shot that rattled out the rim to cost Mexico the game. Replays show Jared was covered but was still asking for the ball as Spark took a wide-open shot. Reporters tried to catch up to Jared but all he said was "The play was drawn for me" Some are speculating after Jared missed the game winner in their first match up with Seattle, that was the reason Spark took the shot. After a 1-3 week, the Muertos seem to be in a tail spin.

(Storm) Bar Harbor gets absolutely pummeled by Smokey Moutain has fans asking for GM Franchise to make a move. Word from sources say that Noah Archer is not happy with having to cut his vacation in FIJI short and that he's coming to stay. Once again Bar Harbor sports talk radio is calling for Noah to put back on the Jersey and help this team out.

(Saviors) Kasey Babayaga and Fender Esquire have a back and forth for the ages as Motor City jumps out to a 53-19 first quarter lead. Texas has no quit as they storm back on the back of Babayaga but Fender and Fonseca prove to be just to much down the stretch. Owner Morgan Dean is questioning his coach's ability to manage in game situations as he watched coach Grimes keep sitting the hot hand in Stoneking and continue to put in rookie Forrest Greenleaf for 30 minutes and put up 8 points, 5 fouls and 2 turnovers.

(Patriots) What was labeled game of the week did not disappoint as Patriots Big win over a surging Seattle has fans and owner Don Potus thinking playoffs as the D.C Patriots official web page just listed first round playoff tickets to go on sale after the All-Star break. After Johnny Walls hit the last second fade away shot for the win fans stormed the court in celebration. Officials are worried that this type of celebration during a regular season game may be dangerous for fans and players and are asking the commissioner to step in for safety concerns.

(Machines) Motor City looks unstoppable as Troy Mitchell looks to lead the league in assist once again. Good thing for Motor city because Fonseca and Fender make sure they will not win assist leader, but they may not have to if they keep playing the way they are and with Morgoone starting to get hot, this team looks to be the most dangerous in the league. Reporters tried to get a comment from Fender who avoided all reporters, Morgoone did not and stated he never knew beating teams the way they are can be so much fun.

BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS

Manhattan Moguls owner Eddie Phoenix Jr releases GM Digger after both mutually decide to part ways. GM Digger put a team together that went to the playoffs last season but fell short to Oakland Hustle. This season with the departure of Fender Esquire the team was ready to move on with all the new acquisitions but coach of the year, David Bedard could only do so much as an already fragile and volatile locker room seems to have imploded. With GM Digger to make the hard decisions the team has slid to last place for the first time in their historic history. Owner Eddie Phoenix Jr spoke to the press after GM Diggers release....

"This was a business move. GM Digger wasn't present during one of the teams most tremulous times and we found ourselves in a very unfamiliar place in the standings. A place that is unacceptable to myself, the fans and the players. After GM Digger and I had a meeting, we thought it would be best for everyone involved and we wish GM Digger the best in his future endeavors but now we look ahead. First course of action is to move Deaundra Anderson. We are taking offers and hope to get this done no later than next week. Until we find a New Gm all team operations and team business will be conducted by Zelda Cortes"

WEEK 7 NEWS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Player of the week honors had a lot of contenders, so let's acknowledge the other players who were in line. Though Jared Anderson had a monster week and Kurt Berry once again led the Black Rock Scorpions to an upset victory, Deaundra Anderson has found new life in Bar Harbor. What started off as a rocky introduction to the Harbo City of Maine, Deaundra quickly rooted himself in and took over this week. The week started off with a vital win at Panama. With 9 seconds left and the game tied, Anderson made two clutch free throws to give Bar Harbor the lead by 2 points. With second remaining, miscommunication between Erick Victor and Adrian Summerall saw the inbound pass get knocked away by Dunkatron who quickly threw the alley-oop and Deaundra slammed it down with time expiring to lead Bar Harbor to a 4-point win. Bar Harbor would go on to sweep the weep with Anderson pouring in 13, 28 and 31 points while averaging a double and adding 5 blocks.

----WBS INJURY NEWS----

Motor City did not only suffer a loss from a last second by Smokey Mountains Da'Youngster Octavious, they suffered a huge loss as center Wei Quo Lie went down with what seemed like a sprained ankle but was later revealed to be a season ending ACL tear. The 32 year old came back from China to try and win a title and now suffers what could be a career ending injury. Wei would not give a response but many within the Motor City organization say he was distraught and would head back to China in hopes of finding doctors who could help him come back this season. With the season shortened, it now seems highly improbable, but nothing is impossible.

"In an unprecedented move by eccentric Bar Harbor owner and former WBS All Star and Future WBS Hall of Famer Noah Archer, he hands over the rights to the Bar Harbor Storm to GM Franchise. Details of the transfer of ownership have not all been released but it seems like GM Franchise will be the rightful owner of the Storm but has until the end of season 13 to find an owner or risk relinquishing ownership and GM Duties to the board of trustees who agreed to this deal. With this deal, owners are lining up including disgruntled ex-employee and what many thought was the rightful Aire to the Bar Harbor Strom franchise, Rosita Ahab. Sources close to the situation say she is already putting together a superstar group, many speculate that the group maybe comprised of owners to put in a bid or a superstar group of lawyers to take what she believes is hers. More news as this situation develops"

WBS ALL STAR NEWS

"Six more teams finalize their World All Star Selection. With a few of these picks no brainers, there were two that stood out that book ends this wave of entries. while many thought Panama would be the only team sending a rookie to the World All Star game, Oakland's owner Eloy Tusk sends rookie from Serbia, Alexander Ludwig to represent the Oakland Hustle. Alexander Ludwig being 23 years old had already been playing professional sports in Russia since 16 and is already well verses in the international games having already played against most the talent that the IBA will be sending. The surprise was Rookie All Star Terrell Robinson. While many felt this was the only choice and a voice that has proven himself in the league so far there were some chirps about Erick Victor being the representative. While the WBS looks to finalize their selections there is still one team who has not made a decision, the Smokey Mountain Mist who some believe are deciding between hometown hero Higgins Mcswine and Venice sensation Mila Pires, both deserving players will finalize the roster, but we will wait and see. The IBA looks to also finalize their roster in the next coming days"

-------WORLD ALL STAR GAME NEWS--------

International Basketball Associations tuns the WBS. What was an amazing game that WBS take a 40-33 lead into the second quarter. The second opened with a 24-8 runs by the IBA as Angel Nunez and William Kelley started the surge. The IBA scored 50 int he second quarter and at half time IBA lead 83-74. WBS opened the third quarter and gave some medicine back as Babayaga and Chadwick open the third to score the WBS first 17 points of the quarter. In the third we say 4 players foul out Kurt Berry and Derion who was covering Cease Fire all night in many moments that would become tense and the two had to be separated. On the IBA side we saw Julius Hardwick hit the showers. Going into the 4th quarter tied at 117 a piece. The first 6 minutes go the fourth quarter was some of the most aggressive we have seen all night the IBA lose Doug Paul and Abel Marley to the showers followed by the WBS Jared Anderson and Rookie Terrel Robinson follow right behind for a total of 7 players, 4 from the WBS. The last quarter would be known as a game for the ages. 11 lead changes as Cease Fire for the IBA and Maryjan Jovanovic for the WBS would start to dominate the quarter. Later down the stretch, Fender Esquire who was having a solid game but finding it hard to get easy buckets as team IBA put Nunez and Macey on him all night. Fender scored 20 but went 1-6 in the last 3 minutes at the free throw line. the game would come down to the last 25 seconds. With IBA leading 168-165, we watched John holden who had been 3-8 from the three-point arch hit a massive 3 pointer to tie the game with 7 seconds left. William Kelly already with 22 assist, 9 rebounds and 29 points would give the play of the night. He would take the inbound pass from Tenzo and make a move to drive as he gave a no look pass to Talon Yamada, John Holden with terrific defense goes up as Talon Yamada shoots a fade away three pointer right over John Holden from the corner and as time expires the ball goes in stunning the crowd at the Chicago united center. The IBA teams floods the center of the court as the WBS stood watching stunned. Coach Wallace and Long stunned. The crowd showed respect and started clapping and cheering the IBA team. Many players on the WBS side began applauding while others left the court with their towels on their head extremely upset. No one knows what ripples this will have going forward but WBS brass along with many sponsors where not happy.

Von Doom would watch in pure pride and amazement what a team he put together accomplished.

WORLD ALL STAR GAME MVP
Wiliam Kelly lead the IBA team with 23 assist, 29 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and went 15-15 from the free throw line.

3-Point and Dunk Contest Winner

DUNK CHAMPION
Dunkatron

The night would see high flying and creative dunks from Higgins MCswine and Ryu Ken Hiro. At one point We saw Higgins bounce it off the glass within his left and catch it with his right hand, throw it underneath both legs then switch hands in a reverse dunk, no one was going to beat DUNKATRON tonight who would blow the judges away with a windmill, through the legs and around the back monster jam that had judges falling off their seats and nearly running out the arena and giving the WBS the win for the night.

3-POINT CHAMPION

TALON YAMADA
John Holden didn't look like he could be beat going a perfect 25-25 in the first round and near perfect 14-15 int he second. Had him face off against Talon Yamada who had gone 21-25 and 23-25 to go up against holden int he finals of the 3-point contest. Both men would line up at opposite ends of the court and a timer would go off. basket for basket until talon missed his first shot on the third rack. Holden had been lighting it up but had missed the 2 point money ball in the fourth rack leaving Yamada up by one as both men went into the final rack. Holden and Yamada would both missed the first ball, but with time winding down both men put up the last shot, with holden needing the money ball to win the contest, Watch as the ball hit the rim, then off the glass and climb back out while Yamada hit the bottom of the net giving Yamada the win for the IBA

BREAKING NEWS

Commissioner Jules Jackson has resigned as WBS Commissioner amid rumblings that the WBS and IBA are in talks of a major merger. Rumblings since the World All Star game comes on the heels of major advertising pulling out of WBS leaving a huge financial hole for the World Basketball Stars league. Many from within the WBS Committee and board of trustees do not believe the WBS can withstand this type of financial blow admitting that advertisements was the leading force of revenue for smaller market teams like Panama City, Oakland, Smokey Mountain and Black Rock. To add to the already unsteady foundation the WBS seems to currently be resting on, many teams are closing their doors permanently. Black Rock announced that they have filed bankruptcy and are liquidating all assets. Eloy Tusk of the Oakland Hustle has grown incredibly frustrated with the state of Oakland basketball, the fans and inability of the WBS to properly function on a consistent level. The purposed purchase of the Panama City Breakers to a team lead by WBS hall of Famer and Players Union president Richard Karcher has hit a major snag and word out of Smokey Mouintain is that Owner Cyrus Skinner is that Smokey Mountain is being sold to an unknown owner from the IBA. We were able to get a word from former Commissioner, Jules Jackson

"Truth is, we have been going for a long time, 12 seasons to be exact and though I wasn't part of all it I was part of the big stuff. This league has endured many controversies, countless teams breaking ground then leaving within 3 seasons. Owners nont being able to solidify any consistency within their organization and most importantly, the WBS has not done a great job obtaining and retaining GM's throughout the league. The GM who are here have done a magnificent job but the truth is there are 12 teams, 8 GM's. When our most storied franchises like Manhattan and Panama City can't retain GM's. Wrap all that up and then put us in front of the world against a bunch of international stars, WBS cast offs and rejects then watch them beat the very best in the world, well, I would say a name change of the World Basketball Star moniker is in line for a massive overhaul. quite frankly, advertisements were the life blood of the WBS and now they have all gone looking for international teams and players to support and I don't blame them, they have been our life raft for 12 years, they are moving on and so am I"

More Major News to come.

------LEAGUE NEWS-------

"Fans are outraged across the WBS due to massice blackouts. The WBS have filed multiple lawsuits against the Satellite company currently under contract to broadcast the WBS along with Paramount and all of the Viacom subsidiaries for national blackout of first round playoffs games Between Vancouver and Seattle and Motor City and DC. With DC having their own network owned by their owner Don Pouts, many along the midwest, southern and western regions of the united were blackout from televised games. A representative who wanted to remain anonymous reported that due to massive exodus of advertisements, marketing analyst predict that WBS will not have the financial backing to cover the cost to have the networks in question cover the games. This would lead to a breach of contract and lawsuits of their own would have to be filed against the WBS. Owner of DC Pontus reached you to strike a temporary deal for networks to stream of his own Statewide network of DCTV and allow advertisements to join his network in order to stabilize the Finacial foundation and allow the WBS time to get their affairs in order. Don Potus reached out..

"We are in a yuge crisis at the moment. I, the chief executor and owner of this wonderful team here in DC. This wonderful group of men, group of Patriots deserve to be honored amongst basketball fans and purist alike. This great counry of ours is being denied access to one of the most wonderful basketball teams to ever grace the WBS and quiet honestly, I find that deplorable. Coporate greed and mishandling of allocated funds have lead to this recession in such a great league and I can't stand by and watch. I have decided that someone needs to come to the aide of the WBS and help lead them out of the darkness and into the light. I am hoping the advertisements and networks agree on our temporary deal to handle such a huge finaical load and we once again can make WBS GREAT AGAIN!"

----LEAGUE NEWS----

Players across the league are reacting possible rumors that the WBS may be closing it's door in a merger with the IBA. Sources have reported that while some players are indifferent many big names that carry star power are not interested in playing overseas or for any other league that is not the WBS. Two confirmed players who will not be part of any merger are Motor City's Small forward Fender Esquire and Toronto's Power forward Derion Williams. As of right now many other are spealing with their agents and will not commit to any decisions until more information is released but we caught up with both men during the playoffs and here is what they had to say

DERION-
"I play in Toronto, I live in Boston, my family is in Massachusetts. Playing my entire career in Toronto was hard enough but I made it work because I love the fans of this city. I won't play in Serbia or Australia. Family is important to me and if I have to choose then maybe it's time I polish off my college cleats. I have a ton of game left in me but maybe it's no longer in basketball"

Fender-
"I've done everything I have wanted to in the WBS. My credentials are here. I am true blue American boy. I turned down Vancouver's offer two season ago because I play here, in the states. I have no desire to play anywhere else. I have already said that I am stepping away after this year. I wasn't sure retirement was on the Dockett but if WBS cease to exist then, Hey I used to be a Wide Receiver for Rutgers, my agent and I have already been in contact with the PFL. I need to venture out, try something new so if there is no WBS, then I'll try my hand at going back tp play football, I'm getting kind of bored with basketball anyway"

----WBS CHAMPIONSHIP----

DC comes back from 3-2 deficit to win game 7 on their court. In one of the best game of the entire playoffs, DC and Motor City fought tooth and nail. no team lead bby more than 3 the entire game as there were 16 lead changes. Lucas Fonseca put Morot City on his back and poured in 42 points and 8 rebounds in 31 minutes. It wasn't enough as Fender could not get going and in foul trouble early on as both players had suffered their 4th foul by half time. The foul trouble impacted Motor City as Fender could not get hot and ended the game with 7 point in 22 minutes and Stephen Scott, center who has filled in tremendously for the absence of Wie also fouled out in the start of the 4th quarter. But let's give credit where credit is due, Motor City suffered their own foul trouble issues with Walls, Stacks having to sit for the majority of the 3rd quarter and Jelani Stewart fouling out. But the difference came down to defense, and clutch play by big time role players Xavier Fonseca and Earl Tarver each pouring in 15 and 12 point respectfully but combining for 27 of the 62 rebounds which made the difference. DC out rebounded Motor city 62-46 which 17 of those boards were offensive rebounds for DC. The entire series was headlined but brother vs brother and Lucas and Xavier faced off, but Xavier drew the task of having to stop Fender and boy did he did a great job of doing so. Coach Reyes quickly saw the mismatch of speed when he tried to give the fans what they wanted by giving Xavier Fonseca the task of guarding his brother but both having very different games, Lucas was to fast and Coach Reyes made the change after the half of game 1. Johnny Walls could not help sharing a few words with Motor City coach, Coach Wallace as he walked off the court later stating all he told coach was "I could have helped us beat the IBA like I helped us win tonight"

A massive win for the first time DC Patriots. After a long history of failure in Minnesota, Don Potus bought the franchise in crisis, moved them to DC, brought in GM Gates and the rest is now history as the DC patriots will be in their very first ever WBS title game as Vancouver and Derion Williams tries to capture their third title.

0-1

In a game that ended with Jelani Stewart, Derion Williams and Earl Tarver all fouling out you wouldn't think the score would be 130-137 but it was and it was the early play of Johnny Walls and Jelani Stewart that set the tone and ended the first quarter with an 11 point lead. Vancouver would battle all night to bring the game within 3 by the end of the third quarter but 3 minutes into the fourth Derion and Jelani Stewart both fouled out as they had to be separated and technical were handed out to both teams after continuous hard fouls slowed the game down. Vancouver managed to get 7 guys in double figure scoring including 4 of them that had over 20. But along with Walls and Stewart scoring a combined 71 it was the defensive play of Xavier Fonseca that set the tone with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks including two of them that came in the last 57 seconds of the game which stopped three-point shots by Mccain and Evans which also created turnovers to seal the game giving DC game 1 of the WBS Championship.

1-1

Vancouver could not go back to Vancouver down 2-0. After game one it seemed like they went back to the drawing board, game back and controlled the tempo. For Vancouver, cooler heads prevailed as once again Vancouver watch Jelani Stewart and Earl Tarver foul out once again but the difference was Derion stayed clean and managed to stay in the game to the tune of 31 points and 16 rebounds. The stats showed that DC should have won this game but after their lead in the first, Vancouver managed to gain a foothold of a lead and never let up. Vancouver was able to control the tempo and pacing of the game which didn't allow DC to get into their normal fast paced Rythm as they couldn't get any consistent runs going. The Freeze now goes back to Vancouver with home field advantage and hopes to take a commanding lead in the series. DC is going to have to show some self-control and avoid letting key players like Tarver and Steward foul out.

No one was fouled out this game but Johnny Walls was not going to let DC fall down 2-1 in Vancouver and scored 40 points in game 3. Jelani Stweart wouldn't him let it go alone with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assist. But there was another player on the other side, Derion Williams went on a tear and scored 52 points getting a bucket every time Vancouver needed a score and he wasn't alone as the rookie Ivan Drago poured in 33 and Ryan McCain dropped 34 to help Vancouver take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Vancouver played every single player on their team and came out the gate hot hitting their first 8 shots starting the game 16-5 but Johnny walls decided to answer back missing a triple double by 1 rebound. After coach Reyes called a time out with 7 minutes left int he first, DC came out and went on a 30-5 run ending the first quarter with a 35-25 lead. Derion Williams found himself in foul trouble early as coach Boone had to use every player on his bench to try and put together team that could defend DC but at the end Johnny walls 46 points, 10 assist and 9 boards were just to much as DC took a commanding 3-2 lead and is now are 1 game away from history as they head back to Vancouver. MVP
MARYJAN JAVONOVIC

At the age of 36, Maryjan Javonovic averaged 45.6 points this season while averaging 37 minutes. He added 4 rebounds and 4 assist as carried Seattle to the playoffs. GM Under Pants did all he could to assist Maryjan including going out to get All Star Center Zac Sheppard. At the end Maryjan did all he could and once again fell short in the first round. Runner ups Derion Willaims, Johnny Walls and Lucas Fonseca all had a case to be MVP but in the end the leagues voting committee decided that the most valuable player to his team was Maryjan Javonovic. Upon hearing the news of receiving the WBS most prestigious award, Maryjan announced his retirement.

Rookie of the Year

XAVIER FONSECA

The Rookie of the year award was dominated by Spark Phoenix, Alexander Ludwig and even Storm MCastle made a case after his trade to Panama avergaing 25.8 points and 9 rebounds a game but int he end the voters awarded the player who was our number 6 player on the board for this award, Xavier Phoenix. A defensive player has never gotten this award but while Xavier only averaged 12 points a game he lead the league in defensive trifecta; rebounds (14.7), Blocks (3.4) and steals (2.3) and was the absolute driving force in DC's defense throughout the season and continues to drive their defense in the playoffs.

6th Man of the Year

J'Dinklage Morgoone

J'Dinlage Morgoone was neck in neck in my book with Seattle's Brandon Hollbrook who made a great case but lost some playing time when Ryu Ken Hiro got hot. When Motor City's center Wei Quo Lie went down with a season ending injury, a lot of basketball analyst didn't think Motor City's bench was deep enough to withstand that loss but J'Dinklage stepped up to the plate and really hit a home run for motor City and now gets rewarded as the leagues 6th man of the year averaging 16 points, 3 assist, 5 rebounds and shooting an impressive 78% from the field and 92% from free throw line while playing 17 minutes a game. One of the last players signed in Free agency by Motor City but in week 5 J'Dinklage really made a name for himself and never looked back.

Defensive player of the Year

It's rare air that a rookie of the year is a defensive player, it's even more rare they are also defensive player of the year. While many players got close in categories like steals, rebounds and blocks, Xavier Fonseca lead in all three. Xavier might have left his mark when he became the only player in WBS history to record a triple double consisting of 23 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks ad he added 4 steals for good measure. Some are saying given Xavier Fonseca played one year in Puerto Rico as an armature, that he shouldn't be considered a rookie, but his play in the WBS as a first-year professional qualifies him as just that. It was his defense that helped slow down his brother, All Star guard and former champion, Lucas Fonseca in the first round and lock up Fender Esquire. Xavier is the first player ever to win the triple crown of defense in the WBS and now sits alone as the only player to have ever done so.

Vancouver facing elimination on their home court was destined to be an epic game that would see DC and Vancouver take it back to the nation's capital in a winner take all game 7. Derion would show up with a fat 37 points to make it known that Vancouver would not go down without a fight. Defensive player of the year and rookie of the year found himself in uncharted territory facing foul troubles and was not much of a factor but that wouldn't matter s his back up and a player some thought at the start of the season would be a starter, Smoke Stacks came to play. Vancouvers Ryan McCain would pour in 25 of his points and add 11 boards but in the end, Jelani Stewart career quest to win a title was capped off by his own 25 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assist and steals. Johnny Walls was not going to be denied and let Jelani Stweart be denied as he came with 48 points, 10 boards and 5 blocks of his own to cap an amazing run that ends with a DC Patriots Championship. DC gets to raise the banner in their first and celebrate as Champions of the world.
