Team Secretary: Aurora Frost

Official Colors:

Teal (#006F71)
Golden (#A27752)

Team History:
Deep inside Sky-Bear Casino is the office of High Chief Behr Danzer.  The "Native" American Casino owner makes his millions every month via his Missouri based casino, so revenue made by the team is not as important to him giving GM's potentially more money to spend on coaches salary and PR matters.

The Missouri Bruins first two seasons featured trips to the playoffs in Season 1 their 8-8 record secured the 4 seed in the east but a 36-34 loss to #1 St. Paul ejected them from contention. In season 2 though, the Bruins went 12-4 to claim the top seed in the league.  After a 37-10 revenge win over St. Paul the Bruins were upset by the 3 seed Dragons 27-13 and had to watch the Impact Bowl from home.

The decline came quickly though for the Bruins as the spirit world apparently turned their backs on the team watching them go from first to worst in the east in S3 finishing with a conference worst 5-11 record a big part of that was due to a lingering injury to running quarterback Herbert Perryman who missed 5 games due to injury.  In season 4 Perryman played all 16 games once again but turned in a subpar season rushing 97 times for 390 yards and only wracking up 14 TDs to 7 INTs. Now the Bruins are trying to find a way to return to their early career glory.

After Season 17, The Sky Bear commanded Behr Danzer to sell the team.   Danzer found outdoor survival and adventure TV star Jackson Sullivan in Anchorage, Alaska as the right man to carry on the Bruins legacy as the team moved on from the land of the Sky Bear Casino.

SEASON 15 - TRAINING CAMP

Welcome Everybody to Season 15 of Kansas City Bruins Football Baby!

Season 15 is going to be a #WestBoundAndDown type of year!!!

*Looks at the Blank stares on many of the Reporters' faces*

I'm sure a lot of ya don't get that Hashtag Reference, so let me speakalil and help ya out. Obviously, everybody knows the song "Eastbound And Down" from "Smokey and The Bandit", but what ya may not remember is that there was the song on the way out to Texarkana to pick up some Coors Beer, not just on the way back to Atlanta. Now, look at the landscape that is going on here in the Western Conference with the movin' of my old friends from St. Louis out to the Mormon state and the realignment bringin' in the reignin', defendin', undisputed HIFL Season 14 Champion Winnipeg Arctic Foxes, into the Midwest to battle alongside our friends from Rapid City and from the great state of Lincoln. So now you have three teams last year that all made the playoffs in the Midwest... and then there's us. By the way, while I'm thinkin' about it, shout out to the one writer who likes to live a little dangerously and picked us to win the Midwest - The Check is in the mail, Baby!!

So let's try to make #WestBoundAndDown into a thing because there's 19 other writers and basically most of the public that follow the HIFL don't give us a chance. And if I can paraphrase the lyrics- "we're gonna do what they say can't be done,  we've got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but we're westbound so watch the Bruins run."

Now let's get into what really matters to everybody...

1. Welcome back, lets talk off-season.  What was your off-season like, what was your biggest addition to your team, and who is someone you wish you didn't lose?

Now I could go through the book and say that Jerry Jeudy was our greatest acquisition or maybe it's Mexico's Greatest Export, Jorge Alcantar, that was our greatest addition. Perhaps our number one draft pick, Michael Koenig, but I'll get to him later in the presser. Personally, I think the best acquisition we made during the off-season was getting Coach Ken Graham to be the new Head Coach of the SkyBear's team. Nothing against Coach Dockery. I'm a big fan of Coach Dockery, but Coach Ken brings another level that we didn't have here in Kansas City. Now, Mea Culpa, that's on me, so when the opportunity came open, I wanted to go get somebody who is going to be better than what we had that would be a way to increase Kansas City football. So we went from somebody who had an unproven track record to somebody who has a very good track record. Now I'm not gonna ask for miracles and go 16-0 and all the way through the playoffs and everything else, because it's unrealistic. But the Bruins are going to be better than 2-14. Our greatest loss? Simple, it's John Jordan. Again, Mea Culpa, that's on me. John Jordan was a fine safety and one of the best in the league, but monetarily, it just didn't work. Again, that's on me. I think we're a better team from 1 to 53 than we were last year so I expect good things out of our team this year.

2. Take us back to Draft Day, what lead to you taking the player you took with your first pick?

Now I'm sure the scuttlebutt is going to be how Dario pushed back from #2 and he could've had 'this guy' in the 2 slot... but I wouldn't have Jerry Jeudy and I wouldn't have lots of other picks and wouldn't of had these other things. This was a draft that was not a matter of quality but more of quantity for us. We had a Lotta holes to fill and we did well to fill them. I think Michael Koenig is gonna be a defensive tackle that helps solidifies our defense. But he's not goin' it alone. We also brought in some key veterans on some trades and Free Agency and I feel very strongly that our one of our weak spots last year, is now one of our stronger points. That's why you go to the draft. You take those weak spots and improve them so I;m very happy with how everythin' came out. Experts be damned, we're a better team now than we were goin' into the draft.

3. Coming out of Training Camp who is the player you wish you would have seen on your "most improved list" that you didn't see?

Two guys I had hoped might step up a bit more durin' Training Camp were Arthur Jarrett and Theodore Marks. Now the way we're running this hybrid defense, flexin' between a 4-3 and a  3-4, we're gonna be usin' both guys to our advantage as much as we can. With the inflection of addin' the 4-3 as more of a base set and the 3-4 as our secondary option, they're going to be interchangeable to me and to our defense. I'm really hopin' that one of the two of them, or better yet, both of them will step up and be ready to say, "OK I am gonna be THE GUY," because we've got two great linebackers with James Blodgett and Myles Jack, but we need a number three and we need a number four. Both Jarrett and Marks were high-level second round picks last year that I don't think they ever got it last year. So I'm thinkin' they will get it this year and they might surprise us, the light switch clicks on, and then, Boom! I've got four excellent linebackers on this team.

4. If you were to improve one position on your team with a trade before the season starts, what position do you target, and are you looking to trade picks or players to get a deal done?

Right now I'm very happy with what we have on our offense, defense, and special teams so I don't see a reason to say, "I don't need a wide receiver- I got good ones." I can go down the line and say that with everyone, except maybe I need a new kicker but the one I got now, he's sorta OK, so we'll just keep him for now, so, no, I'm not really in a position to want to get somebody. Yeah I'll listen to offers, but that doesn't mean that I'm gonna accept them.

5. How many wins should your fan base expect this year, realistically what should fans expect to see?

Well if you listen to the experts were going to go 0-16. The last time I listened to an expert, well, I can't remember when.  I've always been one to buck the trend. The proof is in the pudding though. We had a down year last year but I think we were still the best 2-14 team out there. We didn't have enough weapons. We rectified that situation. We've got more quality on both sides of the ball. Ideally you want to win all your games at home and go 500 on the road. That means you got 12 wins but I'm a realist. I have lofty expectations but am I going to go defeat my three division opponents twice? Probably not. But if we can get three wins out of the division and with his fourth place schedule, I'd like to see at least go .500 but I think anything above six wins is a win. Now .500 will not get us in the playoffs but nobody at the beginnin' of last season thought Atlanta was going to be in the playoffs. Nobody thought that Amsterdam was gonna go all the way to the Impact Bowl. Nobody thought that some of these other teams were going to go 15-1 or 12-4 and lose in their first game so I'm not gonna put a real number on it.

I know what I want. I know what I need. But I know this fan base is a little upset with how we've been playing these last two years. I think they're gonna be a lot happier when they see the SkyBear's team on the field this year, even if it doesn't show up in the standings.  As my secretary, Shay, told me before this press conference, it's time for KC to Bear Down.

Any other questions?

Talon

Alright dude, lets get down to business.

GM Dario

Alright Coach, Back to Business we go.

We have a Salt Lake City team that is young and fast but very beatable.

Offensively, do we need to control the clock running the ball, keeping our defense off the field, or just let Julius control the situation and make smart plays on offense to get points?

Talon

I think we challenge Jules to come out and take over. He had that hot start last year, I want to see him establish himself early for us too.

GM Dario

'Let the stars make the plays' -  I like it.

Defensively, I think we need to make Worley uncomfortable and make mistakes.
Do we need to do anything special with our revamped D or just , again, let the stars make the plays?

Talon

My old college roommate used to say this was a time to put your sack on the table and see who had the fuzzier and larger nuts, I agree with him then and I agree with him now.

GM Dario

Then Let's Go Nuts!!!

SEASON 15 - Week 1

Strike up the Band Baby! The Skybear's Team is 1 and 0!!!

1. Discuss your week 1 results, what were you happy with, what were you disappointed with?

It's always grand to get on the W side of the game and to stay away from the L side of the game. Thought we played a complete game on all facets, offense, defense , special teams. On Offense, I was glad we could see Julius with a 131 Game. RW with 115 and nearly a 5 yard average. Rivers put more TD's on his plate in this game than any game all season. Jacob showed why he's dangerous in the open field with that Punt Return to the House. Defensively, We played a little too much break not bend defense. We made key stops when we needed to, but we need more pressure on the QB, especially on 3rd down. The Mongolian did some nice work and that kid Dario kicked it straight and true. We're not invincible, but we're getting there.

2. How do you feel about not having pre-season this year?

I'm ok with it. It's a little more learn on the fly, but I think teams often use Preseason to work the kinks out and get Varsity-Ready for Week 1. I'm hoping that the learnin' period for us is a lot shorter than everyone else and we can grab a couple W's while teams are still tryin' to figure things out.

3. What did you think of Alejandro McGhee's comments about the Bay Area Sea Lions being able to beat any HIFL club?

I know the words "Any Given Sunday" come to mind, and in AM's case, that could be true. But ya gotta wonder if AM was in the HIFL, if he'd even start... so I'm not sure if I'd drop that type-a-bomb on us, especially when all he did was put a bigger target on his head in the PFL.

4. Discuss any news that interested you, if you had team specific news address it first.

Well, well, well. Who woulda guess that kid Dario would have a YUGGGGGGGE Fan following?!?  I mean it's not like he tweets a lot or speaks his mind or does crazy antics.....

Listen, I'm as shocked as most that I'm lucky enough to get chants and views and such. I'm just tryin' to put a good spin on a job that not many people want or desire. Being the first Player GM is a big Up for me and I'm just tryin' to make KC look good, The Skybear look good, and if I happen to look good as well, then good for me too.

As for some other news, I know some might not understand what Soriano is talkin' about with their former HC in the grand scheme of things, about makin' a smooth locker room.  When I first got to KC, I had looked at Coach Polowski for a potential DC, but things didn't work out in our favor. Bringin' in Coach Graham this year has been that next step for keepin' our locker room settled and easy. The last thing ya want is trouble at home, and Michigan looks to be back on the right path with their new coaches.

5. Discuss your next opponent and game.   How likely do you feel your team is to win this contest?

It's Vegas Baby!!!  Just remember what happens there, stays there. And I'm hopeful we can keep former KC QB Mariota unsettled again. Last week, after throwing those picks and not bein' able to use his runnin' ability, Mariota just wasn't effective. So causin' turnovers and gettin' him rattled will definitely help our cause on gettin' another W this season. If we play as we did against the Lake, I think we will make all the fans in KC sing 'Viva Las Vegas' when we land on the tarmac at the Skybear's Airport.

Any other questions?

Talon

1-0, that is the goal every week.. We went 1-0 last week. Lets do it again this time, bro.

If it ain't broke, Baby!!!!

GM Dario

SEASON 15 - Week 2

Well we are Leaving Las Vegas, but not the way we wanted to...

Discuss your week 2 results, what were you happy with, what were you disappointed with?

Anytime you take an L, you're not happy with the results. Anytime you're a cause of that L, it hurts worse.  I missed three kicks that I shouldn't have. That 9 points changes the complexion of the game.  So I'm disappointed in that Kicker we have, but he, like me, has a Kicker's mentality.  Shake it off and move on to the next one. We're still playin' hard and I think he and the team are gonna get past this.

2. After two weeks do you feel your team is where you thought they would be, if not what is the biggest area of improvement needed?

I think the offense is still workin' on continuity. But on Defense, we gotta stop the run and losing Earl on the DLine for basically the season, it's gonna be even harder to overcome that weakness. But we gotta do it.

3. Are you happy with the play of your quarterback so far? Where do you rank him across the league's 32 starters?

I'm happy with the play from Julius. But we don't need him throwing 40 times a game. I know people will think I'm crazy, but like that stops me, but Julius is definitely a top ten QB. We just need to put all the pieces together on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes, which will make what Julius does for the Bruins, mean that much more.

4. Discuss any news that interested you, if you had team specific news address it first.

The injured list is a who's who of players, but the loss of Earl is big for us. We're gonna have to adapt quickly to his missing prescene.  And I'm happy to see KC not be at 32 on the Power Poll.   We just need to keep going up, not down.

5. Discuss your next opponent and game.   Where is your biggest advantage?

Our next game is at the Skybear's place against the Smoke.  They're 2-0. They're a good running team. They are banged up though. We're not sure if it'll be Campanelli or Trevino at QB, but we have to force turnovers or stops.  If so, we can get the ball into the hands of our playmakers, I think we have the advantage and I like our chances on getting a 2nd win.

Questions?

Talon

Hey boss, thanks for having my back out there; I know the two INTs are ugly and unacceptable, but understand that we were in do-or-die mode and I had to just throw it up to try to make something happen quick.

GM Dario

You were tryin' to make plays to get us back in the game. Can't fault ya for that.
If that kicker we got wouldn't have missed 3 bangers, then you wouldn't have been in that position in the first place.
Just keep doin' what you're doing, Julius, we'll get back to our winnin' ways soon enough.

Talon

If I can make a suggestion, I think we should consider bringing in Ruben LaPorta off of the free agent wire. He could help us at DT.

GM Dario

Absolutely gonna take it under advisement.   Keep slingin' arrows, Julius!

*****

Shay, I need some help here.  Ruben Laporta was on the San Antonio Roster last season and Kelvin Hart was his agent.
Would you see if you can find out who his new agent is or if he's workin' for himself, then have the agent or Laporta give me a buzz?

Talon

GM Dario

Well HELLO!! James T, It's your boy TD in KC.

So here's the scoop, I'm in need of a DT and your client Ruben Laporta would be a nice acquisition to add to the Skybear's DLine.
I'd like to get Ruben in Bruins Colors for 1 year at 1M.

Can we make.... this... work?

Talon

My friend... I like... the way you... think.    ....Make it so!

GM Dario

Appreciate it James T !!

*****

Coach Graham,  with the Big Blessin' out for 3 months, we've brought in Ruben Laporta to help at the DT. Doin' so, I had to cut Bradley Hillman so we'll need to make some adjustments on both sides of the ball.

I'm thinkin' we can use Jacob at times as a WR5 to cause some match up problems when we go 4 and 5 wide. We also may need to adjust our Special Teams which Bradley was gettin' most of his PT on.

With Laporta in at DT, should we place him in the upper tier of the D1/D2 rotation with Billingsley or bump Koenig to DT2 and slide Laporta in at DT3?

Talon

I'd slot him as the DT2 right out of the gate.

GM Dario

Then we'll do just that, Coach!

Laporta to DT2
York to WR5

SEASON 15 - Week 3

Before I get started on this press conference, I just wanna say that I appreciate all of the efforts that the Distinguished Gentleman from Louisville has brought upon the HIFL.
Mr. Gators, you definitely are one of the good Peeps.

Dario opens up a Dr. Pepper and takes a swig then begins his press conference.

1. Discuss your week 3 results, what were you happy with, what were you disappointed with?

Well, as a player I'm not disappointed with how we played as a team. But as a GM, they really didn't win this game, we lost it.  Big props to RW for his MASSIVE Run game. 35 for nearly 2 bills. Big Props to him.  Walter was on fire, no pun intended, with a couple more End Zone grabs, and the latest member of the Skybear's team, Ruben Laporta, looked like he belonged on the field fillin' in for the Big Blessin'... But ohhhhh man, did the penalties kill us.  Way too many Late Hits. Way too many yards given up, and we couldn't stop their Wideouts.    But I'm still optimistic. I think we can fix this and make the Skybear's plans work out for us.

2. Have you and your coach made any major adjustments so far this season, if not do you feel you need to after this week?

Coach Graham has been a big prognosticator of "If ain't broke...."  But we gotta tweak a couple things this week to give us a better chance at more Dubs for the Peeps.

3. The league has discussed a potential league-sponsored event to give free agent offensive linemen the chance to showcase themselves to HIFL teams, what do you think of this idea?

With Makai doubtful for this week, and the rash of injuries, I can understand why Lady Commish wants to do the OLine thing.  People kinda forget that without an decent OLine, your key players are runnin' for their lives. And look how well some communal work did in Crow Town... Who's to say it won't work elsewhere.

4. Discuss any news that interested you, if you had team specific news address it first.

Other than Makai bein' doubtful, there's not much to report from the Skybear's team.   RoMar goin' shell against the Beach was impressive. How about the Green Wave pullin' the YUUUUUUUUUGE upset over Clemson?  And Lou-Lou Kelly, Shake it off baby. you'll get that clutch kick next time.

5. Discuss your next opponent and game. What is something about that team that you wish you could emulate?

It's the first Divisional game against the Great State of Lincoln. We gotta stop the run. We gotta stop the run...   and We gotta stop the run.  It doesn't matter who's runnin' the ball, we gotta stop the run. Take the ball and put into the hand and arm of Harris and I think We have a better chance at gettin' that Dub. And as for what we'd like to do that Lincoln does?   We gotta run the ball. Control the ball. Control ToP. Get a W to the Skybear.

Any Q's?

Talon

This defense is still struggling to find their mojo, obviously... but offensively, I feel we're working towards the right result.

GM Dario

So I had a thought about that while playin' McFadden last night.. We're 3-0 on this year's sim, so far Baby!

We kinda got tagged with some Roughin' calls, got burned on some deep throws and man, that killed us against the 'Dam team.
And I'm wonderin' that if we dialed back the D just a bit, like ya can on McFadden. I know it's not the same with our guys but ya get the idea, right?

Talon

Both Chuck and I believe in an aggressive approach to the defense, but our guys aren't really where we want them to be with that right now, so I think you're right, a more conservative approach could avoid some of those late hits and being burned when going for a pick.

GM Dario

Then we'll do just that, Coach! And see if our never say die attitude can't get us our first division dub.

Defensive Philosophy to Average from Aggressive

SEASON 15 - Week 4

34-27.... Well would you look at that?  The Skybear's team goes on the road and gets a well needed Division Dub.

If you don't like the Hashtags, you may wanna skip the rest of this media sesh.

1. Discuss your week 4 results.

#MojicaMagic happened yet again. Ya hate to see anyone on ya team go down, but when ya got capable backups to pick up the slack, you can keep that mantra of #NeverGiveUp. The SkyBear has blessed us once again, gettin' Aaron Mojica a fantastic day in relief of a fallen Julius Irvin. But, I'm gonna not just toot his horn.  I gotta give some BigUps to both Jacob York and Runnin' Wolf for carryin' the offensive load on the ground. Anytime you can break Two Bills on the ground, ya gonna get some good things happenin'. And let's not leave out the big guys upfront. The O Line had 30 pancakes, includin' 12 from our two rookies, Stinnett and Smith fillin' in for Makai. The Defense was much better than the previous three weeks, and held the Pride O in check as much as they good and that kicker we got, bangin' two from way downtown #ForTheVIPeeps,  It was a BIG DUB to get back to 500 for us.

2. One quarter of the way through the season, has your team played up to expectations?

I think we're just now startin' to see what we can do. We just gotta remember to #NeverGiveUp and that it's #NextManUp and good things'll happen.

3. Do you see yourself attending the HIFL's Offensive Lineman Open House?

Probably not. Even with Makai upgraded to Questionable, he's the only one we have that's not at full strength. We got depth across the OL, so I'll take this Open House off.

4. Discuss any news that interested you, if you had team specific news address it first.

Hate to see Julius down for 4 to 6, but we got two weeks to get #MojicaMagic ready to start while Julius is out. Rookie Haitch is ready to go if Magic gets banged up as well. In some other news, Justin BY GOD Fields went the EFF OFF, and as soon as I saw that game, I checked to see if we play them... and thank the SkyBear we don't. Former Bruins Coach Haas has gotta be lovin' the resurgence of the run game in the HIFL. How about the kid Franco from Southern Miss, goin' gonzo with a 59 yard walk-off ! YEAH BABY!  Good to see Thee PFL'er McGhee backin' up his talk with a 6 pounder too.  And if anyone had 2 Drachmas on the Grecians to beat the spread against the Samoan Swat Team, I got some Samoan Girl Scout cookies for ya. Hit me up on the Tweets and I'll send ya a box.

5. Grade your coaching staff so far through the first quarter of the season, have they lived up to your expectations?

With Coach Graham comin' in, I feel like we got a breath of fresh air with Coach Seaton and Coach Piper. Expectations are definitely bein' fulfilled though. Are we A+ Material yet? no, but with our A+ Staff, we're gettin' there.

6. Discuss your next opponent and game. What is something about that team that you wish you could emulate?

Well, as much as I wanna get back out there, it's good to have our Bye Week.  Makai should be back to full strength after the bye, but Smith was lights out in his place. This also gives Coach Seaton two weeks to Prime #MojicaMagic for our game against the Tots at home for Week 6. The Tots are a very steady team. We're gonna have to stay on our toes and keep playin' our game though. One missed step and we're lookin' at an L.  But that's two weeks from now.

So whose got questions #ForTheVIPeeps?

Talon

"Jerry Jeudy was a big acquisition for you this off-season, but so far he's been a near non-factor seeing his yards decrease every week since week one.  With nearly 400 snaps and only 13 catches and 131 yards, how do you get the most out of this investment, or do you see the former 5th overall pick as a trade asset in the coming weeks?"

GM Dario

I'm happy with the investment we've made so far. Jeudy has been a bigger factor than his stat sheet shows though... Take a look at Rivers, who has been on FIRE, pun intended.
Last season, Walter had 647 yards and 7 TD's the entire season. So far, he's at 354 with 7 TD's.  Why?  Jeudy, as well as Hutch and Lars, is forcin' teams to not be able to double-up Walter.

So what's gonna happen as the season goes on, more teams are gonna have to shift defensive schemes to help against Walter, which will open up things for Jeudy, Hutch and Lars as well.
Fryin' pan or Fire? Which one ya gonna get burned with? So Jeudy may not be gettin' stats added on his trading card, but he's helpin' the team out.

As for trades, We're 2-2 and in the thick of the hunt, so there's no yard sale at the Skybear's Den at the moment. But I'll keep the phone ringer on in case someone's lookin' or in case we start lookin'...

Talon

Clutch win, dude.  We earned that one.

GM Dario

To get that Divisional Win, to get knock off an Unbeaten, and to do it in their wigwam, Absolutely it was a YUUUUUUGE Dub for us.   But damn it cost us Julius for some weeks.  Mojica was Magical in relief and now we've got the Tots in 2 weeks so Aaron can try and do it again.  He didn't do bad last year in a spot start, but can he match that intensity again?  I know Coach Seaton is high on Hensley after Trainin' Camp, but I think Mojica would still be the smarter play.  Thoughts?

Talon

If you ask Coach Seaton, it's hands down Hensley as the better QB and passer; but I feel like Mojica is more similar in play-style to Jules, so if we don't want to change the offense much, I'd stick with Mojo.

GM Dario

So H is more of an air-raid passer while #MojicaMagic gives us more RPO options, like Julius does?
I do like Aaron startin' against the Tots regardless. But we'll have to talk more on the QB's later.

As for the whole WideOut thing the media is tryin' to wham us on with Jeudy and the Boys.
Is it more familiarity with Julius, and with Mojica, and Walter as the #1...
or is it simply gettin' the ball to who's open, whether it's Walter, Hutch, Lars, Jeudy or whoev's?

Talon

Rivers just has a knack for getting open, he's slippery and tough to cover.   He's on pace to have his best season as a pro, so I really can't complain with how that part of our pass game has worked out.

GM Dario

I'm not complain' either. If we can keep the passin' goin', then the run game benefits as well.

How's the Rooks done on the line?
By the stats dump, Stinnett has 15 'cakes, and only 1 sack given up so far. That 8 missed those is a little concernin' .
Smith had 6 'cakes in his spot start for Makai last week, and I thought the line looks great with 54 and 280 on the stat sheet, despite startin' two rooks.
Mull has 2 'cakes on the year as well.
Are they proceedin' how ya expected 'em to do?

Talon

GM Dario

That's all we can ask for then.

Coach, take the rest of the week off, and we'll catch up after the games

***

Shay, Will ya get me Bobby Shapiro on the phone?

***

Bobby!!!! It's TD BABY!

So... need to broach ya about an extension for Paul Billingsley.
I think he's gonna be a great asset for the SkyBear's Defense so
I wanna see if we can get PB stayin' in KC for 2 more years after S15, at 6M per year.

Talon

Currently we'll politely decline to negotiate at this time, bay-bay.

GM Dario

I gotcha Bobby. Ya miss 100% of the shots ya don't shoot ya know.

Keep TD in Mind when Later comes, baby!

****

Shay, ya got anythin' ya need from me before callin' it a week and enjoy this bye?

Talon

Not unless we have any other contracts to offer, boss.

GM Dario

Shay, let's run one more than...  See if Ira is free for a moment.

****

BIG BEAR!!  I appreciate ya takin' my call on the off week. I won't be but a minute.
I just wanna see if one of my captain's is ready to lead the SkyBear's team for the next 3 seasons at 6M plus 1.5 Bonus per Season.

Talon

I've meditated on this decision, and the Skybear tells me to ask for $20MM per season.

GM Dario

I'm not one to counter the SkyBear, but there's a budget that the league office keeps me in line with...

I'm willin' to go 10M plus 2M Bonus for 3 years at this time, Fully Guaranteed, for ya to stay with the SkyBear's team.

Talon

F the Skybear, I'm in.

GM Dario

Glad to have ya stayin' in KC, Ira. Enjoy the rest of the bye week.

****

Shay, we're good.  I'll see ya after the Bye.

SEASON 15 - Week 4

Throwback for #TheBadGuy

1. Discuss your week 5 results.

Well, There's Good News from the Skybear's Tepee this week - We Didn't Lose!
And, There's Bad News from the Skybear's Tepee this week - We Didn't Win!
That's the breaks of havin' a Bye Week.

The Medicine Men and Women did a Bang up Job though.
Makai looks to be ready to start this week, and Julius looks to be back in 4 weeks.
The one game that caught my eye was the 'Peg fallin' to Jersey.
Big Move for us in the standin's out of the cellar with that L by the 'Peg.

2. What does your team need most in terms of improvement?

We need to flip the Turnover Ratio. Right now, we're on the wrong side of the +/- factor.
Coach Piper and Coach Graham tweaked the D against Lincoln and that brought us a Big Dub on the road and in the division.
We're better than what we look on paper, in my opinion, and we're just on the cusp of gettin' to that next level on both sides of the ball.

3. Discuss any news that interested you, if you had team specific news address it first.

At first glance, ya think there's a few teams lookin' at the General, but I wonder if they'll get the askin' price for Patton.
Johnson doing Edward-like things in Cleveland is always good for the HIFL.
That Nail Biter with Jersey and the 'Peg was off the charts.
And ya gotta feel for KD... Every time he gets back on the field, he gets banged on the noggin. Gotta figure out how to keep up healthy.

4. Discuss your next opponent and game. What is your biggest advantage in this contest?

We got the Tots at the Skybear's Tepee this week.  It's a big stretch for us as we have the next for with #MojicaMagic in for Julius. But I like the way this sets up over the next month with the Tots at 1-4, The 'Peg at 2-2, Dallas at 2-2, and the Harbor at 2-2-1.  Realistically if we can pull .500 or better in the next 4, it's gonna be a nice set up for our team in the second half of the season with a Healthy Julius.  But first we got the Tots.  They're a better team that the 1-4 though. Cole is on that edge of stardom and they can play some solid D, be we gotta do what we do best - limit the mistakes on offense, cause some turnovers on D, and get some splash plays on Special Teams to send the Home Folks home Happy.  That's all I got for ya!

****

Coach Graham, we're lookin' primed for a good run here with Aaron at QB while Julius is out.  We talked about the 'O' last week, let's talk about that 'D'.  Signin' Ira to an extension will definitely stabilize things on the line as we go forward.  Laporta has been a Find after losin' Christian early. Jack and Blodgett have been YUUUUUUGE for us and Marks has stepped up his game. The CB's are lookin' more stable after that adjustment against Lincoln. Pina is doin' Pina things and Driver & Hunter are solid but not spectacular.  Do ya see any tweaks on the scheme to fit our personnel we have or perhaps are we in need of one player who might bump this D up another grade level?

Talon

I spent the bye week challenging Plunkett to up his game.  I see him like a David Nutt type DE who should use his power and dominate the line, so if he can rise to that challenge I laid out, I think it could elevate our game on D.

GM Dario

If Plunkett steps up, we can book end him with Ira and that would put more pressure on the OT's, and Pop the D a bit more.

*Scribbles a name onto a notecard, folds it and slides it across to Coach Graham*

Durin' the Bye Week, I was checkin' through some GM things and this name caught my eye.
If we can get him to sign up with the Skybear, would it add some even more pop to the D?
