Rules
1. The game will start with Day 1, with a 96-hour deadline.

2. Regular day phases will have a 72-hour deadline.

3. Night phases will have a 48-hour deadline.

4. All voting and unvoting should be done in bold on a separate line of text. If it is not on a separate line of text, it may not be counted, and I will not be adjusting the vote count because you forgot to leave it on its own line.

5. Do not use secretive, hidden text or anything like that in your posts.

6. Remember, there is never any speaking about the game outside of the game thread or any assigned faction chats. Don't PM anyone, don't reach out to them on Discord, don't call them on the phone, just don't talk about the game outside of the game. Even after you're dead.

7. We will be using Chatzy for this game of mafia. If you are part of a group, you will be assigned a Chatzy Virtual Room. These rooms, the thread on the boards, and PMs with me are the only places you should be communicating about this game. If you need to speak to the mod, reach out to me directly through PM on the boards. Don't talk about the game on Discord, not even with me.

8. Once you reach enough votes to be lynched, you will be lynched (unless there is something that can prevent it). The day phase and your life do not end until I make a Hold For Write-Up post, so you can continue talking and doing your thing until that point. No amount of unvoting can save you once majority has been reached, though.

9. Once you have been killed, via night action or lynch, you must cease speaking in the game thread and any Chatzy Virtual Rooms you have access too. You may now only speak about the game with me or in any post-death Chatzy Virtual Room given to you after your death. I do not like bah posts, so don't even make one of those please.

10. During the night phase, you cannot speak in the main game thread. It goes under lockdown and any posting will be punished. If given a Chatzy Virtual Room, you may still speak in that during the night phase, unless told otherwise.

11. Please send any night action you may have in as soon as possible by PMing me on the boards. If you have a night action and don't plan on using it, please let me know that as well in a PM. If you have access to a Chatzy Virtual Room, you may instead send night actions in there.

12. Never quote anything from your Role PM or from a message that I have sent you, either in a PM or in an assigned Chatzy Virtual Room.

13. Role claiming is allowed, but frowned upon.

14. Character claiming won't be punished, but these are all made up characters so there isn't much point. It, too, is frowned upon.

15. I'll be following suit with the new standard for activity, which utilizes a 3-strike rule. If you go 72 game hours without posting in the game thread, you'll get a prod. You then have 24 hours to post in game or it's a 2nd prod. 24 hours more of no activity results in being removed from the game. Submitting night actions or speaking in a Chatzy Virtual Room do not count as activity, you must post in the game thread.

16. This is an experimental game, so don't expect a normal set-up or color scheme.

17. Have fun and be nice to each other, or whatever.

A man stands before a large window, looking down at the nighttime view of his city. His form is silhouetted by the glow of nightlife, arms folded behind his back.

"This town used to be peaceful. Beautiful. But everything is crumbling now," the man's voice was filled with emotion, despite its hard, gravelly tone. "With everything going on in the world, Darkness Falls was supposed to be a bastion. But those... things. They-hyught..."

The sound of something puncturing flesh accompanies the man's audible gasp of pain. He stumbles backwards, as his silhouette becomes two. There was someone standing perfectly behind him, such that we could not see. As the man falls, he knocks things off his desk, including a placard that reads Mayor Thomason. He lets out another groan as he clutches the side of his neck, looking up at his attacker just in time to see them turn and disappear out of the office.

"We... we're all doomed, now..." the Mayor's voice chokes out and fades.

Though this is the poster for the movie, Let's not overlook that the Darkness falls game came out in the 90's and was a first-person survival horror game where a guy wakes up alone missing all his things and has to try and survive. Not sure if there is flavor for either in this current game but I'll point out things if I see them. You all should check it out also, could find it on youtube.

I agree with this. I definitely feel like you need to gain as much information as possible during Day 1 to get a feel for what's going. If someone isn't contributing to the game or just gives me a bad vibe during the first day and it carries over it definitely makes me wonder

Not knowing how many scum, if 3rd parties exists, what roles people have - that's all questionable on Day one till more information is out.

But the point of mafia is two competing alliances - Town and Scum [if not called by that name pointed out by color].  If their wasn't scum we would all meet our win conditions right now. UNLESS - yours is different than mine.
