It's a different game and judging by the theme, it's some sort of survivor thing. What if something happens night one?

Just a complete guess, but your jumping on any comment makes me think I was wrong.

No wonder guys stay quiet day 1 🙄

Are you a Survivor?

GM Oldfield

Do you just want me to sing destiny's child?

Wanting this conversation to now be less confrontational. Wouldn't want to Lose My Breath in a Mafia game

GM Oldfield

Don't mix up flavour and Mafia dynamics to try and catch people out.

Cool nobody died, but I'm none the wiser after a day and a night. I think Oldfield's comments about the game stand out the most but this is an "experimental" game so I really don't know how much to read into that.

GM Oldfield

I make one prediction that's based off nothing and people get irate. I can see why people just keep quiet now.

GM Kirk

No need to be like that. You're just the only person who said anything interesting, so you're the only show in town until something else comes up. No need to worry until votes start landing on you.

GM Dougie

I learned quite a bit actually. But with no one whatsoever to tie it to. So essentially I've got a version of nothing. Lol

This makes no sense without any context to go with it.

GM Fosters

I profiled Bennet and he came up as part of the holy church and the text was yellow.

Read into that what you will, but I don't think he's a survivor/ town.

I have no context in my role about the Holy Church so Bennett you have some explaining to do.  What is your win condition?  What do you do as the Holy Church?

GM Fosters

To clarify, Bennett is yellow, which is a different colour to what I am... which is a survivor.

Not sure if this applies to Oldfield who I pressing in the previous day phase - but this is exactly the line of thinking I was trying to figure out - especially when you referenced in your last post with survivor/town being intertwined.  I too am a survivor.

I took Oldfields Destinys Child claim as a soft claim version of this and why I unvoted.

GM Oldfield

Yes I am a survivor. Although I didn't want to out myself and be targeted night one. But seeing as enough of you have said it it changes the dynamic.

'Holy church' suggests more than one member. I wonder if anyone can vouch for Bennett that this role isn't necessarily scummy/evil?

GM Dougie

Fair to guess here most of us are/were survivors and that there's probably 1+ recruiting factions.

Doesn't sound like you've got a version of nothing.  I also assumed recruiting [or in the case of the Holy Church - perhaps conversion is the more appropriate term] but you saying 1+ intrigues me.  It implies to me that you were recruited but not by The Holy Church.

Please tell us more about you're version Douglas and let us decide if it is nothing.

GM Franchise

I'm a Survivor as well. Holy Church might be a Mason group possibly. I'd like to hear more about that though considering it's a different alignment than the Survivor/Town group.

Was trying not to go into too much detail so as you/someone wouldn't confuse me for modding the mod...

Game with multiple survivor claims...makes it doubtful that there's a pure town faction. Logical approach would be that there are 2 or more warring factions who would need to acquire survivors to join their faction to accomplish their win con. Only reason there would ever be more than one survivor in a game imo.

There's my math. Make your judgment if its zero or hero

A simple back read would fill you in.

I would be leery of those who might start to start a bus on me just in case thanks to Fosters investigation and forcing me to reveal what my purpose is in this world. Despite that, it would clear Fosters name and I would pay close attention to those that try to bus on him or try to harm him in any way.

With that in mind I think this has mad the two of us easy targets for scum or those blinded by the Devil's darkness (pun intended)

Your role implies that you are part of a town?  You reference the devils darkness in another post - is this just you doing your natural flavor or does your role actually name a competing faction like Doug has stated.

GM Bennett

GM Kirk

I'm pretty suspicious of anyone who says they are in a group considering it seems most of us are survivors. I like Doug's theory of warring factions with survivors in the middle. My guess would be a recruiting faction and a killing faction because survivor doesn't make sense without something to survive. Without seeing a kill, that's just a guess though. You've got to think Bennett's faction is at an extreme disadvantage now he's been outed.

I think we need to know Bennett's win-con. Saving the world (town) doesn't track when there doesn't seem to be a town to save.

GM Pancho

Quote from: GM Bennett on March 07, 2022, 08:46:05 PM
Yes and flavor.

This is a hugely unsatisfactory answer since I asked multiple questions.

I'm with Kirk especially about the win con.  I don't know if it's Bennett being cheeky or if he's being misleading with his answers.

Vote: Bennett

Whether or not Doug was right about a warring factions - as far as I know - my win con states I can win with either faction unless you can state something different Bennett.  Can you name and shame your opposing faction and give us more information? Consider this vote pressure to be more forthcoming and influence my vote. Otherwise it stays here.

GM Bennett

I don't know of any other factions or what scum is going by. Only way I win is if all threats to humanity are eliminated.

I will save all that I can and send every demon back to where they belong.

I answered both of your questions. You asked me if my role implies I'm town I said yes. You asked me if me saying devils darkness was flavor and I said it was flavor. It goes along with who I am.  Not sure how unsatisfactory those answers are for you.

GM Franchise

So you're not a demon and you're not a survivor. I'm either voting for you or for the people pushing your lynch because they're pushing for the sake of pushing for an easy lynch. In my opinion it's way too fucking easy to go after him. I'm voting Kirk, Pancho, or Bennett. Not liking the quick push of the lynch by Pancho so I wouldn't be surprised if one of the people pushing it was scum. That's my thinking right now.

I'm using my vote to push for more information. I even said I would be willing to change my vote as that was its intent was.  I'm curious why you would lump Kirk with me and Bennett.  Kirk unlike two other players [Fosters and Oldfield] has not hard claimed survivor.

So far we have Doug's theory of two warring factions [which was somewhat confirmed by Bennett] - Fosters confirming the existense of The Holy Church in yellow - and Bennett confirming he is a member of the Holy Church and his intent is to save "the town" from demons/evil/scum ... except so far we have 3 confirmed players admitting they are Survivors so what does he mean by "the town."

I haven't made up my mind but so far it sounds like Bennett is just trying to live by painting himself in the best light - but is using outdated terminology that doesn't [so far] apply to this game. But it certainly doesn't apply to me .... YET.

Just for clarities sake, after back reading everything, as you referencing demons as an actual labeled group or faction in the game, like survivor is, or is this just you flavoring your post to go along with the holy church vibe?

GM Dougie

Ok lets just get this out there...of course I know more but I was trying not to leak it all.

The other faction is zombies. Both tried to recruit me last night. Both failed...it had to do with my passive ability which I'm not revealing but many of you should understand (my assumption is some of you survivors also have an ability take Fosters for example)

So the reason I'm not voting Bennett yet is because Holy Church vs Zombies...Zombie in name alone sounds like an anti-town faction more than holy church does.

To be fair, that's speculation at best because for all we know...zombies could have the more town-like thing in this game. But if Bennett is telling the truth about his win-con, then I won't be voting for him.

GM Franchise

Awesome, that confirms there's recruiting going on which is good to know. Knowing that information I will not be voting for Bennett.

Pancho, that doesn't mean the others claiming Survivor are all telling the truth. I'm not buying all of the claims. Fosters out of the two names you mentioned I'm getting the most town vibes from for obvious reasons (his info from targeting Bennett).

If Zombies are the other factions then it would go hand to hand to with what I've been referencing. Like I said I've never known what the other faction is called but I know my character fights against supernaturals fhat are a threat to humanity.

Doug at least started as....not scum? Not sure how to word it. But his info jives with what I know about my own role.

To me, it's between Fosters and Bennett, leaning Fosters.

Why Fosters? Because he outed that someone doesn't have Survivor as their alignment?

GM Josh

Sorry for the late response. Been a hectic last few days.

From my understanding with a survivor game, we win no matter which faction wins in something like this as long as we're still alive. We know Bennett is not a survivor and thus not town. Remove him and try and find the rest of any holy church members if there are any. If not could be a quick survivor win if we can win with the zombies. Worst case here, lynching Bennett doesn't end it and we need to eliminate the zombies as well.

Okay this one reads odd to me - your role was investigative but not conclusive ... and that would make you the third person to target Doug on Night One?  Because I doubt you want to admit to being the Zombie.  Then you say it's Fosters instead of Bennett ... even though apparently Bennett's clarity wasn't enough for Eli either.

I'm confused Mike.  His info was pretty broad and exposed two factions - so when you say your role jives with his info it kind of makes me think you're the Zombie.  Help a brother out.

No actually you didn't because there's a difference in a vague "devils darkness" comment and specifically labeling a faction which is what I wanted clarity on.

Also a simple yes or no would have sufficed.

I don't mind when people play with the flavor of their role, but when it leads to confusion it only works against the overall goal of town. Clarity = good for town. What you've given us when people have asked specific questions so far? Not clear.

For the Bennet not being town. If we are currently running with the idea that the game is faction based than anyone who is not a survivor is not town.

I am not a zombie, I suggested going after the church as we clearly know who one of them is, if he was a zombie I'd be saying the exact same thing just saying eliminate the zombies and win with the church instead. Based on the survivor role, we need only to be alive at the end regardless of which side meets their win con. I even said in a worst case scenario that lynching the church doesn't get us a win then we go after the zombies, we'd of course have to figure out who they are.

Also since Doug said he was targeted for recruitment by both parties, that would stand to reason they may not have anyone in their faction as they may start solo to not give either side an early advantage.

Quick summary to go back to our old ways. Lynch any non town when we know they are not town. We know Bennett is not town, therefore Bennett is the best lynch at this time.

GM Kirk

Vote: Bennett

I don't care which side wins as long as I'm alive at the end. Take the factions out and survivors win. Wait for one side to out recruit the other and survivors win. Lynch or don't lynch makes no difference as long as survivors make it to the end.

GM Kirk

This is the interesting thing about the game and maybe a flaw in the design: there's no incentive for the survivor group to lynch unless we know for a fact that someone is not a survivor. And we only really want to lynch them to speed up our win-con. Until we see a night kill, there's not much incentive to actively hunt for the "others." I agree with Josh that we take them out when we find them, so we can get rid of the risk that they do have a kill, but I'm not jumping on lynches based on maybes.

GM Dougie

For the sake of this game. Everyone who is still using the words town and scum, just stop. We have survivors, holy church, and zombies. Focus on what we know.

No one has come out and said "I am town." so forget there's a town. This is an experimental game as the rules say. Traditional things don't have to exist.
