Talon

Im fine doing it myself, but have no issue with Franchise right now

GM Dougie

I'll do Oldfield, with the deck allegedly being 50% blue, I personally think its better to do an untested pairing. Under these assumptions:

7% chance I draw 3 blues
43% chance 2 blues 1 red
43% chance 2 reds 1 blue
7% chance 3 reds

Nominate: Oldfield

Fascist Policy

With the 2nd fascist policy being played, the policy peek power has activated.

Talking may resume. Talon is the next president. Doug and Oldfield are ineligible to become chancellor.

GM Dougie

Ok. A number of things.

The fact that I drew 3 reds (though not impossible) was highly improbable suggesting there was a lie earlier on.

What also supports that theory is the next 3 cards there's only one blue in them. I know that for a fact due to the presidential power from the 2nd red played.

Right now the only player that I can logically trust is Pancho. No offense to Talon but I'm only voting yes if Pancho is chancellor since the next 3 cards have 1 blue in them. If Pancho plays a red then it would tell us Talon discarded a blue.

Talon

I'm comfortable with that assessment.

I'll nominate Pancho.

GM Franchise

GM Mike Powers

I know I've been a bit slow, I apologize for that. Had I made it in time for the last vote, I would've voted 'no' on Oldfield due to him sending me 2 reds earlier in the game. Now that there are 2 reds connected to him, I will definitely not vote for a government that includes him.

Pancho on the other hand is trustworthy.

Vote - yes

Talon

I was given 2 reds and 1 blue, discarded one red.

GM Pancho

Can confirm that I was given a choice between 1 red and 1 blue.

Guess I'll wait a turn and then become chancellor again.  Long as I get a blue - a blue gets played.

Talon

when eligible I am also happy to be nominated. I have shown that I will discard red and put forward a blue policy if possible.

Golf clap for you sir ... but it is diminished in my eyes due the fact Douglas made it public.  Still! Thanks for the blue though

GM Mike Powers

I'm thinking Franchise. Any objections?

I'd like to know who you would nominate for the special election ... is that how the special election works?

GM Mike Powers

It's been a minute since I played this game. Someone remind me what the special election entails? It doesn't specify in the rules.

The next time a fascist policy is played (if a fascist policy is played) the sitting president selects who the next president will be, regardless of what the current order at the table is.

So, if Powers government was to play a red card this time. Powers would get to choose anyone at the table to be the next president in power. After that, the order reverts back to normal.

GM Mike Powers

I would select Talon as President, with the idea being he would select Pancho as Chancellor. If Talon wouldn't commit to that, I'd select Pancho.

If you're going that route then would who Pancho chooses as Chancellor have any effect on your choice if it's someone you wouldn't like to see chosen?

I would agree to that strategy.

That was essentially just a backup plan because I fully expected Talon to agree - which he did. Had he not, I'd have put more thought and emphasis on it.

Anyway, I nominate Franchise.

Vote: Yes

Mostly because if the mod sticks to the 24 hour voting period we don't have a ton of time.

GM Mike Powers

Yes to my own govt, if they wasn't implied.

Discarded a red and passed along a red and a blue.

Talon

Pancho, who would you appoint as President in the event your government passes a red policy?

GM Mike Powers

EBWOP: I'll vote for any Pancho or Franchise government moving forward.

GM Pancho

Assuming I can't just appoint myself - I would appoint Franchise. He's passed me a blue and played a blue now.

At this point I am going to nominate Talon.

Talon

HOLD PLEASE.  doing math and we have to find where the lies were because we are getting way more reds than we should be in the "reveals."

Id request we hold off on the vote for a sec. but I do accept the nomination.

Talon

So if Im not wrong here:

first draw was claimed to be 1 blue, 2 reds (BLUE PASSES)

Means we should have 5 blues and 9 reds left.

Next round "three reds" and red passes.

Meaning we should have 5 blues and 6 reds.

Next round we get 1 blue, 2 reds, Blue passes.

Meaning we should have 4 of each.

Doug's draw goes "3 reds" and red passes.

Meaning we SHOULD have 4 blues and 1 red.

On my turn I received 1 blue, 2 reds.   That shouldn't have happened if everyone before me tells the truth.

so coming into this last government Powers said he got 1 blue, 2 reds.

Meaning we are now in a deficit of reds (by 3?)

Im not familiar with the reshuffle and all the mod mechanics, but we've been lied to at least twice I think.  Doug's all red draw seems fishiest to me ATM.

Talon

All that being said, I would rather see the cards handed out than have to trust someone else to do so, so I will

VOTE YES

GM Franchise

GM Pancho

GM Fosters

Vote Yes

Relatively happy with Pancho and Franchise as they have passed on a lot of blues. We do need to air on the side of caution though. If I was a fascist I'd pass a few blues on early to gain cred

Fascist Policy

With the 3nd fascist policy being played, the special election power has activated. FRANCHISE has been chosen by Pancho to be the next president. Given that he is next in the seating order, Franchise will preside as president for two terms now, rather than just one.

Please note that at this point in the game, with the 3rd fascist policy being played, Hitler being elected as chancellor will result in a Fascist team victory.

Talking may resume. Franchise is now president. Pancho and Talon are ineligible to be chancellor.
