Brian Graves          Bling Gracious

While the WBS world and it's fans await the announcements of the Audits, another opportunity for Controversial star Brian Graves once again appeared in the spotlight...as former WBS champion and 3-point champion Brian Graves makes it official and calls it quits. The once up and coming superstar's career took a drastic turn after the 2014 championship loss while playing for the Manhattan Moguls. Brian Graves was involved a night that changed his life forever when altercation outside of a night club put Mr. Graves in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Having been arrested for attacking a transsexual women who he had been seen leaving with Mr. Graves outside of a New York night club immediately sparred a whirlwind of controversy. Even though the victim recanted their accusation and no charges were filed, Brain Graves was soon released from the Manhattan Moguls. The following season he would sign with Oakland Hustle only to be injured and then released mid season due to the backlash from fans and the trans community. Without another offer, Brian Graves quickly took the WBS to court and filed defamation law suit claiming he had been black balled from the WBS. While countless court dates and hearings were set, three seasons passed with no verdict. Mr. Graves took to the media countless times demanding a team have enough fortitude to sign him but to no avail. Finally, when the WBS decided to ratified it's contract to allow women to tryout and potentially play for the WBS. As the summer league started, it was a moment that was supposed to be momentous for women in all sports as former female college athletes were invited to tryout, led by NCAAW champions Jenny James was over shadowed by Mr Graves. r. Graves showed up to the first female invitation at WBS summer league completely made up and over as he now claimed he identified as a women and was to be called Bling Gracious. Having claimed that the traumatic aftermath of his attack that fateful night in NYC made him realize that he had to come out the closet. The now Bling Gracious demanded they be treated fairly or risk lawsuits for discrimination so to avoid further controversy the WBS allowed them to tryout. They did not disappoint, Bling dominated the summer league which led to the out box owner Poffo Von Savage to quickly sign Bling Gracious to a 1 year deal. Bling averaged 18 points, 4 assist and 2 steals per game helping lead Vancouver to their second straight championship. In a shocking moment as the team was holding up the trophy mid court, Bling was ask to speak about their amazing journey on and off the court. Bling spoke and proceeded to rip off their jersey, sports bra, hair weave and eye lashes as Bling became Brain once again. He thanked his team mates and Savage for the support and allowing him the opportunity to win a title and go out on top. He gave the league the middle finger, he crotched chopped the fans in a classic WWE taunt made famous by DX and admitted to never being a member of the trans community. Brian  Graves then went on to announce his retirement. Today, paper work was filed and the controversial WBS star Brain Graves has retired at the age of 32 from the WBS.

BREAKING NEWS

After a week long Audit and the disappearance of Houston Snipers owner John Doe, a full audit revealed two major infractions which has forced Commissioner Jackson to sit with both owner union president Kirk Grunge and Players association president Richard Karcher in a closed door meetings. After the meeting Commissioner Jackson with permission from all parties involved address the media.....

"First off, I would like to thank everyone for being here. Before I start I want to make sure everyone understands the immense poundage Houston's actions has caused. Both union Owners and players association presidents stand behind all decisions made and for transparency and clarity I am here to divulge all the information gathered during these audits or at the least the most important parts. First, evidence collected proved nearly without a doubt that Houston's championship year in 2019 had been plagued with countless emails to and from selected WBS game officials. Many who officiated the playoffs and title game. Emails included words like payout, how many points do you need it by and how close do I keep the over/under. There was pretty much point shaving, game gouging and what we believe was a direct manipulation game 4 which was a closely contested game that went into overtime. For safety of the officials names will not be disclosed but for the sanctity and integrity of the game, all current WBS officials have been released and new officials will be hired and personally interview by a hand selected group chosen and agreed upon by both owners and players association presidents and myself. That's the first piece of business. Second was there was a number of emails between Black Rock, Houston and Agent Krillin Gobochov Babayaga, we believe this lead to the sudden and surprising departure of KBG's son Kasey from Black Rock to Houston. Now, not enough details were presented in emails to suggest any money's transferring between parties but the failure to reconcile and or shut down the conversations which were in the emails will land both Black Rock and Krillin G. Babayaga a hefty fine. Krillin will also cease representing his son Kasey as his agent. Let me be very clear, nothing suggest that Kasey had anything to do with his departure from Black Rock. Last but not least, there were many emails directed at the draft lottery association so starting this year, we will be using another company to represent WBS in the lottery system. As you know the livelihoods of many young men and possibly women rest in the hands of those cards when they are flipped to reveal which teams will draft in what order. We will be conducting a redraft, that is a non negotiable due to the emails we found connecting Houston's owner to the 2022 draft lottery. Now, the hard part, as of this moment, Houston's owner has been fired and his assets frozen and liquidated and will face undeniable charges of his own, if and when he is found. The team will either get a new owner or relocate to the dismay and chagrin of all Houston and Texas fans of the WBS. This is a black eye for the league but one that had to be done to ensure the integrity moving forward as a legitimate basketball association. At this moment let me be clear and forward, I was not here for any of this but let me assure you, something like this will never happen under my watch eye. I feel horrible for the players, coaches, staff and fans of the Panama City Breakers. As of next week, the top three teams available to land the top three spots will be Panama, Vancouver and Black Rock. Every other team will land as their 2021 standings. Thank you, I will not be taking any questions for that the information I have gathered is sensitive and must stay within the legal clutches of the WBS"

..... after Jackson spoke the sports world just blew up, many dissecting the 2019 championship run of the Houston's Snipers. Fans began trolling social media, some burning their jerseys, most extremely disappointed even going as far to say they can never watch the WBS again. We will see what other fallout will come from this explosive development.

BREAKING NEWS

While the fallouts from the Audit are still being felt throughout the league. Shocking developments have transpired. What is being call the Killswitch of the WBS Players union will change the landscape of the WBS moving forward. It seems as there was a league wide policy of silence when the WBS players formed their union. It was a policy not to cause panic and lose advertisements or investors. Players had amended their contracts with their owners during their unionization. The players seemed to have all implemented a key element that would give every WBS star an opportunity to opt out of their contracts if The WBS legitimized with the United States sports commission. With the changing of guard and transfer of individualized ownerships of profits made from likeliness of players along with laws being put in place through the US sports and betting commission, players were able to get out of their contacts if they desired. The league had stood very quiet on the matter not expecting any changes to occur according to WBS player union president Richard Karcher for that the deadline was within 24 hours. The first hammer dropped when Super Star of Bar Harbor Mario Wright filed for free agency and tore up his 32 million dollar contract. The dominoes began falling as many players began opting out. Long time beloved Veteran JJ Smith from Oakland soon followed which shocked the Oakland fan base. But, nothing sent ripples through the league as when one of if not the leagues best young player Derion Williams of the Vancouver Freeze filed for free agency. More to come as these new developments seem to have major financial impacts. Rumors are starting to take the league by storm that advertisement groups that signed long term deals with franchises are looking to back out of their commitments all this while names are still coming in of more players opting out.

BREAKING NEWS

WBS Finalizes the sale of The Houston Snipers to the owner of the biggest sporting goods and Bar and Grill chains in Texas, Morgan Dean. The team will stay in Houston for the next five years while Morgan Dean looks for anew location but the Houston Snipers will be renamed and rebranded the Texas Saviors. The newest owner to join the ranks of the WBS said a few interesting and choice words at the podium...

"Well hot diggity dog...ain't this some [EXPLICIT] Seems like I went ahead and ruffled some feathers. This is a whole new ball game now, Mr. Jacksons ain't messing around so I hope all you corrupt owners are wearing your brown Khakis because we are in a new day. If I catch wind of anything that would cost this leagues it's integrity I will jump down your throat. So, WBS, Texas, ladies and gentlemen, Do not worry, your SAVIORS ARE HERE"

Strong words from the outspoken and idiosyncratic new owner in Texas as the former Snipers look to start a new legacy in Texas. More to come as the rebranding continues, word coming from a source has said that Mr. Dean has made it known he is donating all the Snipers apparel from all his stores throughout Texas to small countries in need of clothes, I don't know what that is about but again, things continue to get interesting here in the WBS.

New owner of the now Texas Saviors, Morgan Dean put out a press release giving the fans a first look at their rebranding of the team. Keeping with the iconic colors of the Texas state flag with the name of the team splashed across the center, it marks a new day for Houston fans and Texas basketball fans in general. I for one are buying into the magnitude of hype the new owner is bringing to Texas and I believe Houston fans have nothing to worry about and will be in good hands for the foreseeable future.

" I think it's important we start looking forward instead of backwards. WBS has always been a great league but with the lack of true leadership and lawful legislation the league began to lose it's way. The days of controversy and black eyes for this league are over. I would like to thank the president of the owners association Kirk Grunge and the president of the Players union Richard Karcher for working diligently with me during this transitional period. It is important that we get back to basketball Business. I will be releasing the new salary cap and salary requirements of the league as per years played in this league soon after the draft Lottery. After the that we will be going into the draft. When the draft is concluded we will move forward into free agency and I am happy to announce that we will once again be allowed to trade. Thank you."

While the league starts to finalize penalties, caps, rules and other important items for the WBS. Commissioner Jules Jackson wanted to give the fans something positive to focus on and with approval from the players unions,  the Draft Lottery will begin tonight at 8pm. Teams drafting order will be revealed within the next coming days.

BREAKING NEWS

Right before the draft lottery is about to be announced, sources have confirmed that brash, outspoken WBS super star, Fender Esquire has opted out of New York. Sources claim he was fed up with New York management and still holding on to resentment from the 2019 playoff debacle where ownership group gave up their spot fourth spot tie instead of going into a one game playoff. After they received the first round pick in the current draft, Fender was very outspoken as what he calls the unfortunate coincidence of fortunes that ruined his chance at another playoff run. He shared some words leaving Manhattan head quarters with me....

"I don't like the direction of this franchise. We should be a dynasty but now we are a goddamn joke. I'm optioning out until I see a GM with some direction come in here. If not, I'll be taking my talents elsewhere"

A lot of people around the situation say Fender wants to be back in New York because of marketing availability and othr business opportunities but also because of his brash, fast pace WIN NOW attitude is perfect for the big city, but will it be enough to bring him back especially with an equally outspoken new Owner in Texas looking to rebuild with star power.

BREAKING NEWS

Owner of Smokey Mountain Cyrus Skinner and owner of Minnesota King Rogers Nelson filed a motion against the WBS to remove all salary penalties from their books at the expense of the WBS due to players opting out of their contracts after they have been paid leaving some team with up to 20 million in dead cap space. On the other end, Player unons president Riachrd Karcher also filed motions to have the league raise owner salary cap so players who ripped up their contracts don't lose money by the unprecedented player cap. Both Player union president Richard Karcher and Owners union president Kurt Grunge filed motions on behalf of owners and players which seem to now be heading to court in arbitration. Commissioner Jules Jackson has been called to help mediate the situation as for the first time in league history tension between both unions are growing.

Richard Karcher was asked about the motion....
"It has to happen, when we implemented what you guys are calling the killswitch, it was just a safety precaution that if contracts opened up that changed the way the league did business than any players wanting to also change the way they did business could do so. Now, I can admit I was in shock to see guys ripping up 15,25 and 35 million dollar contracts but every player has their own reason. I can't speak for each player or their speak on their money but I can speak for agreeing that we can't move forward without a complete overhaul. We can now trade, we are now allowing high school players to be drafted. We now have agents and general managers to deal with, so with all this new money being thrown around, why is the cap still at 55 Million, with everyday life inflation, state taxes, per game taxes on the rise why hasn't the amount that players are able to make risen, so yeah. Honestly, we feel that this was a heavy handed approach to some hurt feelings. We know some owners aren't happy but that's not our problem. There are teams in this league that have never been successful, why? Because they don't spend the money on wisely building their teams, facility upgrades, advertisements and marketing, they keep it for themselves and then turn around and blame say players don't want to play for them. We are here to make sure the entire system is changed, just not the ones that benefit one side because players got to eat, they got families to feed"

When owners union president Kurk Grunge was asked, he said this...
"The players wanting a motion right after hard player salary caps come out seems a bit questionable. A lot of players ripped up their big time contracts and left their teams high and dry, I know,  I had a few. So a cap came out so that we wouldn't have one guy demanding 35 million when the cap is only 55 million. It was suppose to bring balance, not to have the players now start back peddling because they no longer have those massive contracts, which they themselves ripped up. They now see how much of a pay cut will happen and are feeling regret, it's not our fault, we were paying them good and they got greedy. Their "Killswitch" triggered this entire thing. How much do you think a guy who just ripped up his 35 million dollar contract is gonna ask for. We have to have a cap in order to protect the league. Raising the owners salary cap isn't the answer because we aren't going to change the player salary caps."

The motion was put in at New York City head quarters and word from the league is that Commissioner Jules Jackson is in close room meetings with owners, players and arbitrators to work on resolving the situation and avoiding a work stoppage. More to come on these breaking developments.

AMENDED

With the WBS world and it's fans holding their collective breath, news on the new salary cap has been announced along with a plethora of major developments by commissioner Jules Jackson

"Thank you everyone for being here. First let me start off by thanking Mr Karcher and Mr Grunge for working diligently with me to come to a reasonable new salary cap and helping ratify other areas of the contracts between teams and players. With doing so we have implemented contractual protections for all involved. So let's get to what everyone is here for, The new Salary cap will go from 55,000,000 to 75,000,000 for players and 10,000,000 for coaches. All coaches currently on rosters are grandfathered into their salaries and any cuts violates their contract and team will be responsible for complete buyout of their contract. All players released will have to half of their contract paid for the remainder of their salary.  All GM's will be given a 2 year Minimum contract unless another deal was agreed upon during their hiring process. Their will be no more killswitches in place. Trading will commence among GM's but there is to be no trading during the WBS draft in the first two years of our new contract. With this will also come the ability for the players union to add more more agent to represent their players. We will revisit all of these items in 2024 when we have agreed will be the next we open the contract for ratification. In all other years the Basketball Combine would require a 5,000,000 buy in. NO MORE! Each team until 2024 will be allowed at the combine for free. To protect the integrity of all teams and players. Each team will have the ability through their communications persons to request a certain number of combine statistics from players that are currently in the draft considering that the combine and workouts had been held in a private location during our audit. All teams will be allowed to interview two players that have entered the draft. An attempt to contact a third will be in direct violation of our new contract and immediate fines will be placed on the team. From this moment all WBS business may commence

This is exceptional news for the WBS and all it's fan as we finally get to see some long awaited business from the World Basketball Stars League, dammit, I'm here to tell you...IT'S. ABOUT. DAMN. TIME.

BREAKING NEWS

Hingle McCringleberry Jr

Major news out of Minnesota, after hearing of the major cap upgrade, King Rogers Nelson wanted to rework a 40 million dollar per year contract that he had given to McCringleberry, word coming out of Minnesota is that McCringleberry, one of the leagues most coloful, outspoken and physical players was lining up a team of lawyers to sue K.R.N and the entire franchise. when both Kirk Grunge and Ricahrd Karcher along with Commissioner Jules Jackson decided to mediate the situation to avoid any more publicity ahead of the draft. After many attempts to repair the situations, Hingle felt betrayed and decided on the proposed buyout. We are hearing that Minnesota will have to pay McCringleberry Jr for the upcoming season of 2022 but only pay him half his salary for the remainder of his 3 years moving forward. Hingle McCringleberry Jr will receive a whopping 20 million per season to not play for Minnesota allowing him to make even more money somewhere else. But this also means the leagues best rebounder and one of it's best defenders is not a free agent. We were able to get a few words from McCringleberry....

"This is what a greedy owner looks like"

Strong words from McCringleberry Jr, I wonder if those words will have an impact on Minnesota attempt to recover during the draft and free agency.

DRAFT CLASS

After a turbulent summer of questions regarding league legitimacy and integrity, fans watching their teams be gutted after mass player exodus and fear of a strike cancelling the WBS 2022 season are finally elated to have that all behind them as the draft class was finally revealed making many fans of the WBS excited to finally have some basketball back in the headlines and news cycle for all the right reasons. While fans are speculating what their favorite hometown teams will look like many GM's are making decisions on their wants and needs of their respective franchises talented played like Fender Esquire, Hingle McCringleberry Jr, Mario Wright, Derion Williams and JJ Smith wait patiently for FA to begin. Owner Morgan Dean was quoted saying

"Oh boy, OH BOY! I love me some cocky SOB's, and let's call spade a spade. DO. NOT. GET. IT. TWISTED. all players who opted out are cocky SOB's, but I LIKE THAT You can be damn skippy my check book is putting on it's swimming trunks right now because we about to make a big splash once FA begins. So those other GM's better get their pens warmed up. The Saviors are ready when you are"

While some GM's prepare for the draft it is obvious others have their sights set on much bigger things. Exciting times in the WBS.

BREAKING NEWS

Word is coming from the commissioner's office that is the changes to the scouting process that was recently announced by Commissioner Jules Jackson seemed to have shocked NCAA president Mark Emmert who was not happy about the abrupt and egregious changes made to the couting process. He was asked about the changes and how he plans to address them.

"They ratified their contract and decided to change the rules on how we operate without sitting with me or the NCAA board. I understand change is good for both parties involved and we want to keep working with WBS as we hope to give so many young athletes the ability to fulfil their dream in becoming pro but we feel a bit slighted in this process. For ten years workouts, combine results and interviews we never capped. How can a GM really an entire picture of our draft class when they are bound to a hand full of players to gain information on. It feels as if though WBS is trying to filter talent through both the WBS and their development league and not allowing truley talented players to speak to GM's and get drafted and paid. We hope WBS changes this immediately or else we will withhold the 2022 draft class and lawsuits will be filed"

Obviously with the draft class being released and exciting brewing around the league the WBS wants to avoid any negative publicity. The commissioner and both players union and owners' union president sat down with Mark Emmert to work on a new draft procedure which I'm hearing will be released shortly.

RETIREMENT

After suffering major set backs all summer with rehab and recovery, Ohio State product and first biological female to be signed to a WBS team has decided in a heart felt and emotional press conference to retire after one year.

"This is the by far the hardest decision I ever made. But healing from my shattered arm has been a long, draining and painful process. I have been struggling to heal correctly and after 7 surgeries I no longer want to put myself through the emotional toll of constantly rehabbing. I would never come back if I wasn't a %100 so with %99 of my heart I stand here telling you I am retiring while leaving %1 at the door for any future possibilities I may be blessed with. I am still young so I am not counting myself out but I can no longer try and rehab on a schedule to come back and play in time. I want to thank the Vancouver fans, the players who took me in and I want to thank most of all owner Poffo Von Savage for having the foresight and courage to take a chance and sign me when everyone else turned their back on me. Along with myself, the signing of Bling Gracious, now Ben Graves and all the great players I had to honor of playing with, I want to say thank you for making me a champion. Though I wasn't there to celebrate with you all, I was already a winner when Vancouver signed me and made me part of history in the WBS. Thank you for making a poor black girl from the inner cities of Ohio dreams come true"

Jenny James is, was and always will be the epitome of class and perseverance personified as she proved to be confident and courageous in her efforts starting when she was a freshman in college to fight for the opportunity for females to play in the WBS. A young women with the intelligence to gain a full scholarship to Ohio State, not for basketball but for her intelligence. Her skill on the court and ability to lift Ohio state to the final four 3 out of the 4 years during her time in Ohio state and she will go down as one of the greatest female athletes to play for Ohio and in NCAA women basketball. We can only hope her efforts, struggles and sacrifice has paved the way for others looking to make a name for themselves rather it be in the WBS or in women's professional basketball league. Let me not be amnemonic and say this, Poffo Von Savage, I also thank you for being a visionary and like Ms James said, having the foresight, courage and let me add, fortitude. We need more visionaries like you in the league.

SUMMER LEAGUE NEWS

With one week in the books we are seeing rookies make huge impacts to their respective teams, Most notably #1 pick overall Lucas Fonseca for the Oakland Hustle and John Ohanlon for the Texas Saviors, just to name a few. Exciting time to watch teams really giving some free agents a shot to showcase themselves along with some undrafted talent that are playing with some chips on their shoulders.

Adrian Summerall

On the free agent front, free agents Tobiah Brown who previously played for the Houston Snipers now Texas Saviors who was invited to play with Panama City Breakers and Adrian Summerall who last played for Bar Harbor Storm and has been invited to play for Black rock Scorpions have been lighting it up on a week by week basis. Rumors are floating around that Summerall who has been a Double Double machine is drawing plenty of interest from teams. Other names starting to draw interest, Tim Stoneking who has been invited to summer league by the Texas Saviors who is also the older brother of rookie Mike Stoneking currently playing for Smokey Mountain Mist has been lighting up Summer league, word has it the brothers have a desire to play with one another.

Wesley Ramsey

As regards to the undrafted rookies Hector Augustine who was invited by Seattle Grunge and Jeremy Frost who finds himself playing with Minnesota Rain seem to be swatting anything they can get their hands on. Another Rookie playing his summer games with Minnesota, Wesley Ramsey has been a nice story. A  young man whose older brother was killed during his senior year of college was said to be a top 20 candidate until he had to leave and finish the rest of his college career remotely. He missed a part of his senior year at Mississippi including March Mayhem college tournament. Many scouts still had him ranked in top 20, some even as low as a #12 pick but ultimately teams got scared away when a social media video of him having a meltdown in a hometown restaurant went viral.  As a 6'11 undrafted, he's rookie trying to get his career back on track and is doing a solid job averaging 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assist a game this summer.

News from the commissioners office is that both Player union president and owners union president have agreed to allow GM's to receive scouting reports on free agents entering day 2 phase of free agency. No word as to how that will be handled if at all but I feel it would be a great service to make sure these talented players find homes on professional teams.

New look Oakland Hustle defeat two time Champions Vancouver Freeze who lead most of the game until the fourth quarter. Vancouver who is lead by rookie point guard Rico Arrington who himself averaged 17.0 points per game just didn't have enough to finish Oakland off.  In the last 3 minutes with Vancouver up 94 to 88, the Oakland Hustle went on a 24-3 run as Lucas Fonseca who scored 34 points in only 20 minutes, dropped 13 points in the last minute in a half as Oakland went on to win the Summer league Championship. Summer League champions were lead by Summer League MVP Lucas Fonseca who lead Oakland averaging 29.0 points per game. GM Gooch's huge move to trade SG Darko Pabcevic is paying off huge dividends as Lucas Fonseca is looking like he is living up to the #1 pick status. With Free agency about to go into full swing it will be interesting to see who Oakland surrounds the young talented player with. Vancouver who just hired their first GM with GM Bandit seems once against poise to make some noise but if Oakland lands 1 or 2 more big name talents the West will be fun to watch.

The first wave of offers have been made and immediately one player was offered more than the max deal. With a new salary cap recently implemented, many players are calling for a meeting with agents and Players Union Rep to discuss amending a brand new contract. One player in particular, Mikojal Jaruzelski, agent KGB was offered well above the max deal for a client of his that only has a year of experience. KGB immediately told his client to sign it and when he contacted the league office to make it official it was denied due to the salary cap. KGB called for a FA strike until the issue at hand can be resolved at to why his client can't get more money if a GM is willing to pay him.  All contracts are on hold until this meeting takes place as I hear commissioner Jackson is already on a zoom meeting with all parties invovled. Krillin Gobochov Babayaga is furious and is demanding other agents step up and the players union and owners union settle the issue at hand. KGB is well known for his absolute no nonsense approach and for also having a client list of extremely talented players in the league. Coming off of a fantastic summer league, KGB definitely has the ball in his court as the league tries to get the season off the ground after a tremulous 2021 season and off season.

"Ve undastend not breaking contaract and asking vor more din cap, but, iv GM offer more, din vy ve can't except"

In what was harsh negotiations turned into a suitable and comparable outcome avoiding a strike by agents and players who have not yet signed. With negations going deep into the morning Commissioner Jackson called all ten owners, the players union president and all agents on a zoom call to try and negotiate and amend new salary cap rules. The new rules passed 10 to 6. The center piece of negotiations surrounded a players ability to maximize their future contracts. With many players having ripped up contracts ranging anywhere between 20 and 35 million annually the expectation was that a new contract would allow fully guaranteed deals, options to apply bird years, and options to center their contract around percentage growth of their contract value for each year they were signed to one team. Instead they signed a deal that would offer them much less money or risk an entire strike and the only players who would get paid would be those already with contracts. It was a deal the player initially signed reluctantly but one in which they did not fully agree with. Having had a GM go over contractual cap Maximum open the doors for renegotiations of all player contracts moving forward. We were able to get a few owners and players on the line for interviews and here is what was said.

Player Union rep and Panama City Point guard Mr Karcher said

"This was exactly what we needed, we needed a GM to be brave enough to defy a contract that was forced on the players. Many of these guys ripped up their current deals looking for a way to really invest in themselves for many years ahead but instead were given the option to either go home broke or sign for half of what they originally had. We understand these men made their own decisions but we were under the impression that we would be able to make more long term money and that's not what was presented. So I think what we agreed on now, is much better and I think it's taking the right steps moving forward. So the players want to thank GM Franchise for doing what was right"[/i]

We were able to get Owner of the Seattle Grunge, Kirk Grunge on the line and he had a different take

"When we finally got to sit down and talk contracts before the off season, the owners thought this was the perfect time to put in place a salary cap to protect out business from new GM's coming into the league and frivolously spending money that wasn't theirs. kind of what we just had with one GM deciding that a structured max cap of 10,000,000 was just to little so he decided to throw 3 more million on top and get us here. Listen, before GM's we were giving players 20,25,30 even 35 million dollar contracts per year, it's not our fault they ripped it up their deals. They call us greedy but I guess 3 years of 30 million was just not enough to feed their families. There's an injustice here somewhere but I don't have the energy to look for it. I hope they are happy with the new deal put in place"

We got a hold of an owner who actually voted yes and agreed with the players, New owner and GM of the Texas Saviors had some choice and colorful words to share with us

"You ask me what I think...AND. I. WILL. TELL. YOU....Don't get it twisted, this was a GOOD THING. Now I can't be the one that is noticing that the teams that had THEE most money to spend  and THEE biggest markets were against a deal that would pay players more, Now I CAN'T be the only one, can I?. This, This right here is absolutely Fucking why, players and fans alike think that all of us are greedy. It really shouldn't be this hard, actually it should be EASY. PEEZY. LEMON. SQUEEZY. See, Now we don't get to offer the player the same max and sit on our goddam thumbs waiting for the player to wake up one day and say YUP, I want to play over there" This is a business man, A goddam business and we need answers fast. This right here, allowing players to opt into an auction for their services gives me the same damn chance to acquire talent then it does Manhattan and or Seattle, and if I offer the most, I get the player. Now how do you like THAT, I THINK THAT IS GODDAM BEAUTIFUL, you know why, Because when the kings eat good, the people get hungry. So let's stop offering crumbs and give them something to fill their bellies, and I got alot of money to fill plenty of bellies"

Agents walked away happy as Krillin Gobochov Babayag lead the way. Word coming from the league is that players and agents are grateful for GM Franchise and applaud his candor. Player union rep Richard Karcher told me that players are looking forward to getting back to business knowing they can hopefully recoup some of what they when they ripped up their deals and they have GM Franchise to thank for it. We are grateful we can start this process as soon as Day 2 of free agency. This will be interesting to see how this affects players going forward and if players reverence for GM Franchise pays off for future signings to Bar Harbor. Thought GM Franchise is being revered by players and agents alike we wonder what affect this will have with owners and their GM's. As of right now Commissioner didn't have much to say only telling us, "we avoided a strike, that is all that matters"

Commissioner Jules Jackson has ordered a stoppage in FA. After King Rogers Nelson changed his support from players to owners, five owners have now filed a junction in court to halt the FA until the contract is revised in a more equitable and equal ruling refusing to honor any contracts handed out from this juncture on. As owners appealed the amended contract, judge Balish has put a hold on the entire WBS 2022 contract until after the season and has ruled that the WBS play under free agency contract the previous 9 years. With all parties agreeing to uphold the previous contract both parties feel like there are both positive and negative with this decision but for now a work stoppage was avoided and FA may continue

For the players, they can now sign for any amount as long as the team does not go over the salary cap. There is no longer player cap restrictions removing the auction list for players.

Owners will only be responsible for %50 of any contract for the first year.

All draft rookies salaries will stay in tact for this year since all rookies are already signed.

Three of the sports biggest and most marketable franchise's are in a deadlock battle over who will sign one of the top three players in the WBS. Vancouver feels like they are the favorite considering Derion Williams carried them to a championship. With Manhattan offering the most in marketability Seattle believes already having super star SF Maryjan Jovanovic can lure Derion to the North West. His agent KGB was very brief when asked about his client.

"No vone knows what Derion wants but Derion. All this talk about other supers stars, marketability and who he already von titles which is neither here or there. Derion is a super star in his own vight. He is already the most marketable player and he already von a title with Vancouver. So any of those can be his veasoning or none of them. He is taking his time. So let's cut the head off this vumor snake. Don't expect a decision until the last day of FA"

UFA DAY 3: NOT WANTING TO WAIT, DERION WILLIAMS MAKES HIS DECISION TO GO BACK AND TRY FOR A 3-PEAT IN VANCOUVER. A DECISION WE THOUGHT WOULD TAKE ANOTHER WEEK CAME DOWN TO DERION DECIDING IF HE WANTED TO WIN A TITLE IN TWO DIFFERENT CONFERENCES BY CHOOSING MANHATTAN OR GO FOR A THIRD WITH VANCOUVER. DERION'S LOYALTY TO POFFO VON SAVAGE AND THE VANCOUVER FANS WERE THE DIFFERENCE MAKERS. WITH THE BIGGEST CHIP HAVING FELL INTO PLACE IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHERE FA SUPER STARS FENDER ESQUIRE AND KEVIN FULLER, ELTON MCCLAIN AND AND ZACH SHEPPARD WILL BE GOING.

"I know my agent KGB wanted me to wait so see how much money I can get out of this, but obviously the money was not an issue. if it was I wouldn't have walked away from my final year contract that was paying me close to 27 mil for the year. I wanted to give the Von Savage family some breathing room to build another winner before I went back. In all honesty, I couldn't play for Seattle, Seattle was our rival and that's not my style. Manhattan was in high consideration but at the end of the day I was born in Portland Oregon, played college ball at Texas Tech, East coast isn't really my vibe. As day three winds down to a close, small forward Fender Esquire has yet to receive an offer. Sources around the league are saying teams have completely ignored the super star small forward to the point of not even inquiring about him from his agent. Fender has become extremely frustrated and rumors says he fired his agent KGB and now will represent himself. The 4 time all Star and 2018 world champion with the Manhattan Moguls Fender Esquire has broken his silence.

"This is absolutely outrageous. I'm watching scrubs getting paid double figure millions and I'm sitting hear like some I'm some bum, shit's wild bro. These GM's need to get their shit together because now I'm pissed. I was willing to take some money on a one year deal and prove to these GM's that I. AM. THE. WBS. But now, these dudes better back up the brinks truck. That's how it's going down"

With teams having already dished out upwards to 30 and 40 million on free agents it will be interesting to see if anyone takes on the big personality and the even bigger price tag that will come with him.
